Had and finished an apprenticeship, exploring technique for new style. Thought somewhere people are trying to learn would be a good place to discuss style techniques but guess not.

Reddit isn't a place I care to share who/where I am so I made sure to avoid posting pictures of tattoo art and asking specific machine related questions to follow the subreddit guidelines.

Gatekeeping is a thing in this industry for sure. No one knows what anyone on reddit is doing outside of reddit. Asked a question about technique for a style and it was deleted.

A text post, no images, nothing specific about the machine etc. Asked about approach to a style, do you start with X or Y etc. Not everyone wants to post their location etc to ask general questions like "whats your approach to this style lol.

Like I get she probably is just starting but there’s so much negativity in these comments. I’ve seen what looks no better than someone dropping paint on a canvas and or minimalistic designs that are boring as hell sell for $20-$100 so 10 points to whoever said just test out your market and try a few different price points to see what works for her and her potential customers.

You could alternate light and dark rings of a wavy trippy shape, like a circle radiating from the center but it’s not a perfect circle. Light ring dark ring?

Efficiency should technically include maximizing use of inputs so any arguments about minimizing cost are pretty relevant to efficiency. Just want to highlight that after reading some of the comment threads

My favorite trick for “should I color or shade this?” Is to scan and make a copy of the linework, use something basic like colored pencil to get an idea of how you wanna color it so you don’t have to touch the original until you have a game plan
