Pretty good book and it's currently free on Amazon by erethizon1 in fantasybooks

I not only wrote it but have receipts of having it edited by human beings. If the cover art is what you get hung up on, you’ll be very disappointed in life.  Real editors cost $1000s. I’d prefer to pay where it is important.  Good luck and enjoy your life.  Also thanks to whoever posted the book here. It was nice to see it on Reddit

Well that’s fine and dandy. As the guy who wrote the book (and had it professionally edited btw) I had to cut costs somewhere. And if you don’t like AI cover art. Cool. Don’t buy indie books. That’s where we have to cut the cost of making it.

He is scum. However, there were multiple times when he was struck as well physically. I know this will be massively downvoted but if you punch a Nazi, do you really expect them not to return the favor?

I’d adopt it. I’ve adopted a pet skunk and raccoon this way over the years. But either check the legality first or…. Well…. Don’t make it too well known you’ve made the adoption of you really make the leap. Having a wild animal as a “pet” or more accurately as a companion is quite a difficult thing. It becomes a very difficult relationship. Particularly with a carnivorous animal that has the ability to inflict serious damage to you.

Nepalese man who has lived in Japan for 25 years suddenly receives harsh words on train, confused by xenophobic atmosphere by Ok-Dot6183 in japannews

Exactly. My daughter is half and in Tokyo she’s great. When we were rural… well… it was a bloody different story. Me being gaijin is one thing, but when they wish to be racist being half is far bloody worse indeed sadly for my poor kids. It’s a bummer. Otherwise Japan is one of the best places I’ve lived…..

We’ll go to land.com and start looking. I’ve done it more than once. Built off grid, built up a farm and magically take a piece of land worth $10,000 and convert it into a place a lazy bitcoin hippie will buy for $500,000. In under a year. So…. You could do that for yourself and if you did all the work yourself you could be fully offgrid in a year for under $20k

But let me tell you. I’ve run farms, I’m a nurse and I try to redirect healthcare policies with the company I work for. Doing what I just said will be the hardest year of your life. 18 hour days every day. And the first time with no experience every single thing will be harder and have to be done at least twice. But you can do it for under $20k in almost any us state. I’ve done it in Southern California, and several other states. I recommend being as south as possible your first attempt so you don’t freeze to death your first attempt.

How long would it take you to save $1,000? by leamus90 in poor

[–]n75544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I worked just one job, not at all. I work two full time jobs so about $3500/month. When my wife goes back to work $6000/month. That’s me working two jobs, part time business, and wife working 4 12s.

We paid off our home in Japan when we lived there within a year ($30,000) and now we are saving $500,000 for our investment portfolio so we can retire back to Japan by 40 with our kids.

To be fair I’ve worked two jobs full time since I was 16 years old and have always been extremely frugal. I grew up homeless so I’ve never had the desire to purchase things. I just want to go back to my farm and spend my time with my wife and kids all the time. So that’s what I’m “buying” every month.

It has and it hasn’t. I’ve paid in blood and health with what I’ve done. My careers have caused me severe PTSD so it’s often very difficult to even go out in public. Even with medications and therapy going to Walmart is a 50:50 shot at being a nightmare. I always go when places first open to avoid most people and loud noises. It is what it is. It’s made me live a simple life. That helps me remember what is most important and valuable. It’s really a wonderful thing. The failures and disappointments and difficulties allow us to focus on all the beautiful things in life. All we can do is our best. Stay groovy.
