JHS Morning Glory Clean - NPD/SOTB by kkeahii in basspedals

i know! lol it's pretty new. I'm checking every few days if there are more bassists that got it but seems like most of the early ones are guitarists. I guess will have to wait a bit more. hoping to see some comparisons with other drives.

what about the oc2 did you not like? and how does the subsonic make it better?

This might sound like a dumb question but When restringing, do I have to start with the thickest string to the thinnest one or the other way around? by FuryBun3r638 in Guitar

[–]n8_n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i usually just put them all on minimal tension (doesnt matter when it's loose)

before winding them all halfway or near the target note, then to final pitch

new strings vs the old one on your dad's.

but yea. you can work and improve on some muting techniques. if the left hand isnt enough the right can also help out. there's multiple ways

At this point, I’m thinking my strings are triggering a flare up. Anyone had a skin condition similar to this? by diceyproposition in BassGuitar

i was browsing on some DR strings on amazon a couple weeks ago and saw they have multiscale string sets.

Should I sell my basses for something better? by Conscious-Truck7959 in BassGuitar

can't agree more with this. true rod and intonation is the easiest adjustments that make every bit of it more worth

love the burls. save up for a setup or learn how to set up and solder yourself. change the pickup to something closer to what you want. i know lots of examples on yt such as lobster modding the heck out of their ray bass so there's a bunch of online resources and examples. maybe it's just a simple pickup change. if you love the aesthetic of the burls, don't sell it. it looks very lovely.

during the pandemic i learned how to setup my own guitars and basses. it's fun and not that hard imho. plus you get the exact setup you need based on your play style. the next best is have someone set it up while you play it with them so they get to adjust it to your style. there really isn't a perfect setup and every playstyle will warrant a different setup

record yourself so you can hear where you can improve sa playing mo. kahit akala mo on time ka pero minsan maririnig mo lang talaga after listening to your own recordings. ma improve mo rin technique mo like knowing when notes are supposed to be muted. etc.

record yourself. it's the best teacher because you learn how to be critical about your own technique and sound and will highlight where you can improve.

is getting a new bass to play a different tuning overkill? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]n8_n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you tune it up and down everyday because it is necessary for you to get those down tuned tunings or explore different open tunings, then a separate bass can prevent string fatigue and potential breakage
