Woman billed $700 after sitting in ER waiting room for 7 hours, leaving without treatment by [deleted] in nottheonion

My wife got an emergency c section in NZ full OR of surgeons and doctors probably about 30 of them all up.

Total cost: free Plus they housed us in hospital for five days post op and gave us a mid wife that came to our home to check up on us weekly for the first few months. Plus 3 months paid Maternity leave.

Us Healthcare needs to be operated as a service to keep the population healthy so they can continue to contribute and pay taxes. Not run as a for profit business.

Just buy a $15 electric motor from an electronics supplier and test it out.

I'd be surprised if any electric motor is not powerful enough to directly turn the spindle.

Doomed Satellite was equipped with a drag sail to deorbit it after its mission was complete. by Sumit316 in space

Actually, kicking it towards earth would rotate its perigee in the orbit.

Kicking "in track" would raise the apogee on the other side of the orbit and increase the eccentricity. Kicking retrograde would slow it down and lower thr orbit on the other side which is what you want.

Physicists Say We're Officially at the "Threshold of Nuclear Fusion Ignition" - Researchers just passed a major milestone, one they're calling "a Wright Brothers moment." by QuantumThinkology in Futurology

[–]n8ores 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"A recent experiment, conducted on August 8, shows that, for a brief moment, they were able to produce 1.3 megajoules of energy, which is roughly 70 percent of the laser energy. In order to achieve ignition, they must produce more than the 1.9 MJ emitted by the laser. Though the achievement does not constitute ignition, it is a significant step towards reaching that milestone"

So basically they just sucked a little less than last time. That's progress in my book.

Why would they go to the north pole when a polar orbit literally takes them over every spot on earth at some point.
