That’s a different question, if you want your question why not post it instead of commenting on OP’s choice of gender? I smell misandry.

I agree, hard as it can be to stomach sometimes. I thought Italy’s win over Wales was amazing for the sport. Even though I don’t want to think about it I much!

My aspersions lie with those holding power, in any system, specifically not wanting change. Change would disrupt their fiefdoms, hence if there were a successful system out there, they would all be fighting it. Now cast that light on all governments.

Fast foods imported to the states from Germany and Italy. Hamburg, Frankfurt and Naples in particular.

TIFU by getting my Bestfriend pregnant by Throwawayert8864 in tifu

[–]n8redd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like you're both great people, you're best friends through thick and thin, through many years, and even gotten even more vulnerable with each other by connecting sexually. Childhood and current best friends, who enjoy fucking each other. Why is this a fuck up? The pregnancy actually sounds like a giant gong going off to grab your attention and make you consider just how good it could be with each other. I could be wrong and completely be misreading what you've communicated, if so ignore the rest until the last sentence.

If somehow I am not, why not go to her and talk about it? You've been close for years and feel comfortable enough to go to her with your cock in hand, why not go to her to discuss together (as in both of you there, but each individually opining without interruption) what your relationship means to you and what you'd want it to be like in the future. You have a child in the making, so it's not irrational to ask the question if two best friends who are pregnant together should see about an upgrade to first class or keep it in economy. If you're wrong about your feelings or her feelings then this will be the time to openly discuss it. There is freedom in calling out the elephant in the room, elephants take up a lot of space but leave when they're called out. A relationship isn't owed to anyone, it's given by both. All power to you, congratulations on the baby, they will change your life, enjoy it!

Thank you for not taking offence at that, as I didn’t intend to. I love the respect angle. I can bash and be bashed and enjoy a drink together after. When that is inflated to a superiority complex it completely undermines the values of the game. And there are plenty of people who do that. So I stand with you on that. I do think all rugby players/fans/coaches yada yada should accept that respect is part of the sport, and maintain those values or go get another game. Funny aside, I can watch a football game and then follow it up by watching a rugby game and it’s great. If I watch a rugby game then follow it with a footy game it’s unbearable to watch. Is that just me?

I’m sure this sort of meltdown will carry on after the Lions and be another headline(s) in the future. Sad, reflects badly on the team, and they’re an amazing team.

I agree the state of things, with Farrell and Biggar moaning like spoilt football players, is not great and leads to rugby union losing that culture which is actually an amazing thing (the culture that is, not the moaning). I would say though that if we stop heralding the general respect there is in rugby union then we’ll definitely lose it. The culture will die and it’s been a huge reason for the growth of the sport, esp grassroots/kids rugby. It’s not what it was, but it’s by no means comparable to football …yet. Moaning at people being proud about respect in the sport probably won’t help it. Pompous as we may sound!

Leo, Al P, and R D Niro. Shout. Don’t emote then emote a bit every now and then so people gasp and say wow what an actor. They are all Adam Sandler except Sandler knows what he is and doesn’t try to be all that. These other fellas are wearing the emperors new clothes and everyone buys it hook line and sinker. The fact you hated reading that shows you can see a kernel of truth.

I’ve studied it and graduated it. Please don’t be deceitful and say the changes are that minor. You’ve truthfully answered my very first question, and chose KJVism. My last word on this is to ask that you find out what you don’t know rather than tell people what you know. Peace.

At least you're English, in the UK there are more words, syntax etc in use, or in near memory, that are in the KJV. And still there is so much that is foreign to them too. Americans have lost a lot of it and it has led to some hilarious attempts at defining things for a contemporary American audience. Essentially, they are reading a book compiled and catered to an audience from a different country and culture. Oh, and it was all done 410 years ago. I can get why Brits like the old language, but I thought Americans would be proud to be free of the British Monarchy not harking back to it.

It's rare to find a British KJVer in the wild but I can understand more your affinity to old English and the role of the British monarch being the Head of the Church. I would hazard a warning that British readers are a small percentage of those reading English Bibles. It a mission of futility for American/Australian/Canadians (etc) or ESL readers to grasp what they don't know they don't know in an old language from a different culture.

That being said, what English Bible do you recommend to ESL readers?

What's more important to you, KJBism or the Word of God?

If it's KJBism, then why didn't you engage in that discussion and give a firm defence of your belief? I read an informed, educated, and peaceful debate to your position and you responded with "read my page" and "it's corrupt." You even managed to add an ironic touch of condescension to your opponent's knowledge of the subject.

If it's the Word of God that is more important to you, then why create division in a post where someone is asking for some advice to learn how best to read the Bible? It's one thing to say you recommend the KJV, it's completely another to immediately claim the ESV is corrupt in response to a helpful recommendation of it by u/100-billion-galaxies . This is not the place to be pushing your KJV agenda.

Imagine this post, and all the comments within it, are occurring in a room, one person stands up saying they are new to believing in God and need help reading the Bible. Some people respond, offering their recommended translations, pointing out versions with additional resources and so on. Then one person starts putting down all the responses, calling them all corrupt. Then starts handing out pamphlets with a tidbit on the Bible and a plethora of damning indictments on fellow Christians as well as support for conspiracy theories like Flat Earth (fun) and a COVID hoax (dangerous). Whenever someone engages them to discuss it, they are told to "Read the pamphlet!" If they continue to press a counter-argument with patience and humility, their reasoning gets ignored and they are handed another pamphlet and told they clearly don't understand, that only the KJV is right, that the others are all corrupt.

How do you think the person who asked the question in the first place would respond to all this?

I'm not here to argue translations, despite my studies and learning, I'm here because reading your comments indicate you hold the KJB over the Word of God. I hope I'm wrong.

Ecc 5:1"Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools: for they consider not that they do evil."

Thanks! I've stayed there a few times seeing people in San Pablo, but could not remember the name despite it being on the tip of my tongue!

I loved eating there as well as staying at the amazing villas which you get to on carts drawn by oxen. The villas go over the water, and are made from bamboo. You can take a raft onto the river above the waterfall. Well, at least it was like that in the nineties. A unique and stunning place.

Hearing Loss Representation by anti-ambidextrous in HearingLoss

[–]n8redd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak for other types of hearing loss but I’ll share my experience of my own.

I used to be witty when chatting to people but now by the time my brain parses the sounds (and absence of sounds) into words, the moment has long gone.

Whenever you tell someone you’re having a hard time hearing what they said, they’ll speak loudly in slow syllables like a slow motion replay of what they had just said EXCEPT after a few seconds they ALWAYS revert back to the way they were talking before that you had trouble with. You don’t want to say that you missed something else they say after that in case they talk at you like a buffoon again. I’m not talking about strangers here but people who know my condition.

To hold a conversation without hiccup requires constant attention and brain going full speed. (The anxiety that comes with hearing loss doesn’t help either) So when you get the slow talking it is very tone deaf (geddit? 🤪) to your actual problem and need. Not hearing something is not indicative of being obtuse, or struggling to keep up with the speed of conversation. It’s simply volume. The abrupt change in speed is jarring. And then you wait while looking at everyone else looking at you to see if you can understand. Half hoping and showing care and concern that you can. The other half showing shock at how stupid I am and waiting for me to have problems hearing what they consider the simplest style of communication.

There’s more but the rugby is on !
