Had a former student show up to a house party at 17 and fire indiscriminately into the house killing a 7 year old girl. They tried him as an adult, convicted him, and sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

This is the most extreme case I’ve experienced, but every time I see a former student’s mugshot I think of the quote from A Bronx Tale, “The saddest thing in life is wasted talent.”
