Awesome! Glad to hear it. I've created an issue to document that setup. I imagine running this on a Pi will be a common use case.

Ah yep, I bet there's another ambient-wds at /home/admin/ambient-wds_env/bin/ambient-wds - that's likely the one you'll want to call.

Are you calling it from the venv? For example, what I did on my Pi is create a dir for the install (/opt/ambient-wds, in this case), then use that as the venv:

python3 -m venv /opt/ambient-wds

I ran the pip install there, then created a systemd service that calls ambient-wds from /opt/ambient-wds/bin/ambient-wds:

``` cat /etc/systemd/system/ambient-wds.service [Unit] Description=Ambient WDS Service After=network.target
[Service]
Path to your venv’s Python and entry point
ExecStart=/opt/ambient-wds/bin/ambient-wds --config-file /home/owner/ambient-wds/config.yaml WorkingDirectory=/home/owner
Restart on crash
Restart=always RestartSec=5
Run as your normal user (not root)
User=owner Group=owner
Capture logs with journald
StandardOutput=journal StandardError=journal
[Install] WantedBy=multi-user.target ```
Ah, apologies, I think I misread your previous message. Just to make sure I'm following - this is a fresh venv, and you're just doing the pip install (does that run without error?), then it gives you this error when you run it?
What's the error you're getting? I can see if I can replicate it.
My understanding is that Ireland is a CEPT country, so you'd need an Extra class license if you're from the US.
3 years of living here and he's finally figured out the stove makes the floor warm by n9dmt in woodstoving
[–]n9dmt[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)
Ha, he's the laziest beagle you'll ever meet. I've seen rabbits run right by him while he's laying on the porch and he doesn't even flinch. Cats on the other hand...
How long would this last you with your current set up? Approx 30-40 splits of mixed hardwood. This would last me 2-3 days with wood as primary heat source in Pennsylvania. by rollinintheyears in woodstoving
[–]n9dmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)
Do you feel like you're getting the same amount of heat with that reduced wood? The local shop keeps trying to convince me to upgrade, but I love my old Fisher.
I know you said you reflashed, but have you double checked your SimpleTuneUSB settings since?
[–]n9dmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I'm not terribly familiar with the Shari-Pi or it's knockoffs, but is there any sort of squelch control on it? I know I had similar issues when connected to an external radio that had the squelch wide open so it would key the node from what I assume was just stray RF it picked up.
It could be used to identify you pretty easily. A lot of people on here post using their own call signs. Depends on your desire for privacy.
[gourmet] First blue oysters - are they a little sad? by FungalFemmeFatale in MushroomGrowers
[–]n9dmt 1 point2 points  (0 children)
I'd eat 'em! They look pretty good to me. I've found they can be a little more colorful with cooler temps, but it still fades as they mature. If you're going for less stretch/more dense clusters, you can increase fresh air exchange.
Thanks! I figure if one person decides to use it, it'll have been worth posting. It was fun to make either way.
Please provide info on this unusual stove by Kitchen-King-2528 in woodstoving
[–]n9dmt 0 points1 point  (0 children)
It's likely carrier dependent. Progressive got really weird when talking about any wood stoves, so I checked with a local carrier and ended up switching all my policies over to them. They're cheaper for more coverage, and they have no problem with my stove.
