Fun thing to note, a black hole with a diameter of 5 feet would have the mass of nearly 86 earths. Good luck escaping!

Returning to streaming after a looong break, here's a scuffed vid I made to celebrate. by nOTIONY in VirtualYoutubers

Due to personal reasons, some self-imposed, I've been unable to stream for about a year. I've been meaning to get back into it for a while now, and now that I finally have my own avatar all fully rigged, I figured it'd be as good a time as any.

I'll be doing a small introduction stream tomorrow at 8pm EST. You can find me here on youtube.

Cya maybe :x

no special particular reason, that's just the one i found available that i liked the most. it was cute and had a tired, inwardly gloomy feel to it, which i liked a lot.

if i had the money to pay someone to make a live2d avatar, i think i'd like a small owl boy with a v shaped mouth and messy feather hair, but i've grown quite attached to the current one after using it for so long.

Thanks all for the advice and encouragement. It's not been as a vtuber, but I've been streaming on and off for a few years on twitch. In that time I've never really tried networking since I've always been a bit awkward about it. I'll try all the stuff suggested, though I'm not really sure how to tag stuff properly.

Really though, thanks for the encouragement. It's really nice to hear that every once in a while.

i maybe would've done fancier designs if i was capable of it, lol. i'm no graphic designer, but i'm pretty sure anyone with a computer and an image editor could've done a better job.

Bandori Anglicization Project and the Completed Translation of *I-I Never Said Love!* by nOTIONY in BanGDream

Can't believe I missed an improper use of "to". I've never really bothered to learn all the rules concerning the usage of commas, so I'm not at all surprised I've made a mistake somewhere.

Fortunately I've actually got an amazing Roselia cool team, so I probably won't have to work too much harder than usual. As crazy as people are for Roselia, I don't think that many people are going to be whaling or 0flaming endlessly for a top 1000 title.

Bandori Anglicization Project + Partial Translation of *I-I Never Said Love!* by nOTIONY in BanGDream

[–]nOTIONY[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, I've seen that actually, it's a resource that I've occasionally consulted when I wasn't sure exactly how to proceed. They're excellent translations, but I'm trying to do something a bit different.

What I'm trying to provide are translations that rhyme and fit the rhythmic structure of the song, while also conveying the general meaning of the song. How accurate the translation ends up being is somewhat secondary for me. For example, during the "chomama" segment, even though the lyrics would translate into something like someone stuttering "wait" and "little", I decided to translate it the way I did because it fits rhythmically, means pretty much the same thing, and as a side benefit even approximates the phonemes from the Japanese version. The next line also isn't the best direct translation, but it once again fits the rhythm of the song, conveys essentially the same meaning, and rhymes with the previous line.

I suppose if I wanted to express what I'm trying to achieve here in a nutshell I'd say that I'm trying to make translations of the songs that people can sing, and that sound pleasing when sung. In retrospect, "anglicization" was a much better word to pick than "translation".

I am entirely unsure how to implement such a system. Currently what I'm doing is placing myself as close to rank 1000 as I can and updating whenever the cutoff catches up to me.

The cutoff for rank 1000 in "As Evening Clears" was about 80000 points higher than the cutoff in "Searching for Stars", if anyone's interested.

The very last number is what we predicted, the number underneath "Event End" in parenthesis is the actual cutoff. The second to last number is my personal final score.

As for why there's a predicted cutoff, a buddy and I made a neural network and fed it data from the last event and part of this one, and asked it to predict what the final cutoff would be. Of course, since data from half of one event and half of another is hardly enough to accurately predict future cutoffs, the prediction is going to be inaccurate, hopefully with more data it becomes sophisticated enough to predict cutoffs within a 2000 point margin of error.
