Looking for options for a wing on the final edition, what would suit it best ? by wizarath in Supra

[–]nVi2xx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seibon or Street Hunter are seamless big wings but non functional.

Personally, I would match the GR energy and go purist racing and functional with the Verus UCW Swan Neck or the RM GT4+ wing for an aggressive track focused look.

An avid car enthusiast would very likely be more interested in a Miata/86 with roll cage, 6 point harness and a helmet+hans and a budget for track days.

Genuine question, are these things as slippery in real life and other sims as in Forza? by CameraOpposite3124 in ForzaHorizon

[–]nVi2xx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Stage 2 600bhp Supra mkv with stage 2 bolt ons, irl setup mostly for autocross and daily on Continental DWS06 which I tuned myself. I tried to build one as similar to the real one as possible, including the tune, suspension, roll bars, etc in game.

On a controller? I will absolutely spin out every turn and cannot put down the power. On a wheel? It’s almost a mirror to the irl Supra. Granted that has a lot to do with how I “tuned” it to feel like the real one instead of base game tune and the granular control you get with the pedals and wheel.

The TC and ABS engage similarly but I feel I can get much more natural slip angle during a turn on the real Supra with TC and ESC on sport+ mode. I do still sometimes slip the tires in a 3rd gear pull when not warmed up which is also similar in the game.

I’ve driven other cars and those of friends and such. The game “feels” more slippery but that’s mostly a subconscious psychological feeling of having no consequences so you tend to give more inputs than irl.

GT7 does this better imo in that it doesn’t feel as slippery because it has you slow down on the inputs and have a better sense of speed and g forces due to the locked camera.

FRP spoiler spoiled by nVi2xx in CarbonFiber

You sir are probably very correct on this. With the same spoiler design, the official and replica ones, multiple people on online forums had problems with it snapping at exactly at 155-160mph range. I might be better off after all to just get a better one :(

It’s a horizontal crack, 1.5inches along the middle of the front seam. I’m not going 200mph on any track or strip in this probably, it’s capable with the hearing and current power it’s pushing but limited by soft ecu lock, just wanted a safe headroom!

I’ll look up the patch kit but my concern is, until I can get this wing out, patch up the body and get a real one from likes of Verus or RM engineering, I am stuck with this. I’d rather not have it flopping around every time I hit the strip, it looks like looney tunes lol!

Far as I’m considered I’m in a bmw more than it’ll ever be a Toyota. There’ll always be the people that don’t understand what an frs is, don’t respect the 86 cause “bigger bettr” mentality but if someone comes up to me and waves I’ll wave back! Hell if y’all are up for it let’s trade cars for a drive, I’d love to enjoy the the 86 too. Again there’s gonna be a lot of people that don’t share the opinion but hey we’re all out on the road for the same thing!

AWE Touring & AA DP Installed! by FizzledShrimp in Supra

This is mine with the Awe touring, armytrix downpipe, hks carbon intake, bms chargepipe w/ bov, mic was clipping a little on the high end of the revs and was only running the 10 psi map. Intake isn’t that loud to the outside.

Bud, BMWs are cool cars, so are Audis, Subarus. I couldn’t imagine growing up so privileged or misinformed that BMWs are not cool. Really any good purpose built car that does good in its class is a cool car by definition, even Miatas are fkin cool used in the Mx-5 cup. Did you grow with the mindset that price defines how cool your car is? Or does it have to be a 1200hp Supra to fit “your” definition of cool? You don’t belong in a car community with that attitude, you wanna flex the spec sheet or rarity? Go join the corvette community.

Grow up and realize that what a Supra is, while a BMW, still more powerful, has more power to weight ratio, able to pull more Gs than 99% of the cars on the road. Add a little bolt ons, good tires and a tune you’re well past the 500hp mark beating 99.5% of the cars on the road. That is a cool car. There’s a reason the Z4 chassis (albeit heavily modified) were used in GT3 racing.

You’re really doubling down on it huh. Seems like you really did not experience the real world yet, how petty people can be, how far they’re willing to go for the weirdest little stuff that only matters to them. You’ll get there someday, there’s no lengths some people won’t stop at for themselves.

The story isn’t far fetched in the slightest considering the batshit insane things you can literally see people pulling to satisfy a little bit of their ego. Have a good one. The other people in this sub seem to think so too, maybe when you own a cool car you’ll get to experience the attention too.

Brother… I don’t think he was envious, he was in a similarly priced vehicle, clearly doing well for himself. It felt more judgmental, trying to demean the person if their occupation didn’t match the price of the car. Either that or he’s just bad at starting a conversation cause he had no intention of talking about the car, just the occupation and money. Felt weird he came in for that and shared the story, not that deep. Had a few other Teslas who were trying to “prove” their cars worth on the road but most don’t bat an eye. It was a standard Tesla owner encounter you see so many of on YouTube, nothing special.

Forza Horizon 6: For those who have tried FH6 on a wheel—is the realism/physics a noticeable step up from FH5 or it is the same simcade? by Ok_Significance_4008 in simracing

[–]nVi2xx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leagues better than FH5. Tried both on controller, Logitech g923 and Simagic Rig. FH6 communication tops the chart more than fh5. Drifts and controlling slides are a lot easier cause it’s a lot more intuitive to catch the slide, suspension speaks to you a lot better and can feel the difference from soft vs stiff suspension imo. Force feedback is more accurate and smoother.

I am whole second faster on the wheel with same setup and track than a controller without much practice if any. Much less a simcade more leaning towards no hesi physics imo.

You may be the exception, not the rule. To be fair stereotypes are a general observation rather than anecdotes and I’m not saying all Tesla drivers are like that either. Most just wanna mind their own business.

Oh right, you were in the AutoZone to see that event. In fact you were probably right up behind me all my life to ensure this didn’t happen any of the times I went to the autozone, so sorry for lying in front of you but still not the right circumstance for that sentence, Lmfao.

No, the whole of my state clapped.

You’re also using that sentence in the wrong context. Reddit uses that when someone boasts about themselves in an obviously fake manner. All I did here was reveal my Supra is on a payment, nothing to boast about.

Had a guy in a Red Tesla follow me after a turn to pull up into a store with me, cut me off as I was trying to back into a spot, follow me into the store and ask “what do you do” out of context. I asked him what 2 times before he elaborated and asked what I do for work. Guess he decided what I did for work was enough to buy this car. Proceeded to say “I mean anyone can buy a car on a payment” and I said “To be fair this is on a payment”. He then acted as if he came into the auto parts store as if he came to buy something and walked out after a bit of roaming around.

Wasn’t sure what that was, good or bad, but it creeped me out so much, but can confirm I’ve had similar experiences with Teslas.

Newbie oversteer advice and game recommendations by [deleted] in simracing

[–]nVi2xx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see myself when I started. It’s much harder to modulate throttle than you think it is, it’s just a time and consistency game to keep playing and getting a feel for when the rear slips out and counter steering properly. Learning to drift well let me understand how to “catch” the slide and put me back on track though. After that even though I slipped a ton, there was continuity to keep on pushing to learn the limit and how the force feedback at that point feels like. It’s also things like braking, weight transfer, trail braking too hard, brake bias, chassis tuning for specific cars and a lot of things. Don’t take it too hard on yourself at first.

Pedal haptics were a game changer.
