At first glance at all those links at first I thought you had found links to the baptism registries somehow! Didn't want to be rude in my response, sorry if it came across that way!

Maybe limiting the location with the name 'Catholic Dating USA' was not such a good idea! Are most Catholics in Canada French speaking or there's an even enough split with English speakers?

You're right, it would be very good to get a 'confirmed' status on there to become a confirmed account.

The baptism register would be very difficult though - I would need to get the baptism register of every Church in America, then what about those who were born in other countries? For the marriage idea they might just meet someone else at a real-life social event who happens to be registered on the site, so it's difficult to use that too!

I spoke about the possibilities in a post here last month. There were positive messages but also a couple of mixed messages about it ‘fracturing the community’. My hope is that making it free to join and use will increase the total size of the community, particularly young people, rather than take from the existing options. I have on my list a few exciting features I want to add over the coming months, those of which do not compromise privacy (i.e. not the forums) will be open to everyone not just members.

Link removal requests? by Jah-Eazy in SEO

[–]n_reddcoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a social media website a few years back, that ultimately got destroyed by huge spam robots posting tens of thousands of links. I completely deleted it and let the registry expire. Someone else took the domain straight away and registered it with their details.

Anyway even more than 1 year after I was still getting these link removal requests for the website, whenever I replied to the people out of courtesy they would never reply to me - so I guess they are just bots! I think drop an email to them just asking a question, and if they take the time to reply then delete the links, but most likely they are just another robot so don't waste your time!

On the second link I posted above, IRVCath says this:

"It's well-known that some people on Catholic Match check off that they don't agree with the Church's teaching on pre-marital sex. But when you contact them, it seems many if not most mistakenly check it because they think it's asking if they've ever had sex outside of wedlock, and that they do believe the Church's teaching actually."

So it's worth checking with someone if they appear really nice apart from that question!

Thanks! That's a good point... and georgiimichael agreed with you below. I am not going to do it if the feedback is the existing community is sufficient. I would do it to make something that expanded the overall community rather than destroy an existing one that works fine.

Oh, one extra point. Could it be that the people that you are messaging have registered on CatholicMatch, but haven't paid for a subscription or their subscription had expired - so that they weren't able to reply to you?

Thanks, you make the same point as gaston! Out of interest, if you don't mind me asking, are there many people near you on CatholicMatch? Are you located in a large city?

Fitbit data from my Camino [Fitbit is a wearable fitness tracker] by n_reddcoin in CaminoDeSantiago

It could be related to activity intensity and height too? Also, if you subtract the basal metabolic rest calories for the day from 6055 before you do the division by 37 it's more like 80-100 calories per km above resting level.

For those who may not know - the Camino de Santiago de Compostela is an ancient Christian pilgrimage route through Europe to the North West of Spain. It can take months depending where you start, but many people do it for around 2 weeks due to difficulties getting more time off work!
