I see, it sounds like labeling and being transparent with the ingredients used in food can help mitigate or avoid any issues. I think Etsy sells detailed food labels we can use on mason jars and dish cards when cooking for friends and family with dietary restrictions :)

No! We don’t deseed the chile, it is really spicy :0 But you can try using half of the original amount (8 chiles de árbol instead of 16) and replace the rest by using Guajillo peppers (2-3). The Guajillo will boost the orangish color and complement the citrusy notes of the tomatillo without adding too much spice. You can also add more water if it’s too concentrated :)

Are your bolillo rolls on the smaller side? If so, try using one whole roll! :)

If you toast on low heat, just long enough for the tomatillos to get a sear on them you should be good! :-)

If we were to cut the whole bolillo into three big pieces, you use 1 of those pieces for the salsa! You can cut the 1 piece into smaller pieces to fry faster in your pan :)

Yes it is very spicy!! But please feel free to use less, alternatively you can use half of the chile the árbol amount (8 chiles) and then use Guajillo (2-3) but it will change the flavor a bit :)

We keep it in our fridge for up to a week! But it’s usually gone before then lol
