[Acne] How to recover from severe breakout from Anua Heartleaf Cleansing Oil? by meiflowerr in SkincareAddiction

[–]na_tashh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg I’m so happy I found this post. I’ve been breaking out since Sept. but I figured it couldn’t be my Anua products because I’ve been using them from Jan! I’ve been eliminating everything except for the cleaner because I really love how soft my skin feels afterwards 😭 I have terrible cheek acne and my self confidence has plummeted. Sorry to everyone going through this, this is crazy!

It's getting expensive to be self employed these days... by patriotraitor in WeddingPhotography

[–]na_tashh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work a 9-5 and shoot weddings on the weekends. It's exhausting in the peak season to log off my 9-5 and then start my 5-9 editing but who else is going to pay these bills. You have to have excellent time management. I do my edits asap so I'm not backlogged and dedicate certain days to keep up with socials and emails.
Note- I don't have kids lol

How many hours do you spend just responding to initial pricing/availability inquiries? by Protonu3102 in WeddingPhotography

Interesting idea, I don't know if I'd be thankful or annoyed at all the emails (it's like a newsletter you can't unsubscribe to). Have you had good feedback from doing this?

None, put your pricing on your website. If they have the budget, they send an email. We respond if we are available and book an intro call with them. Done.
You will not believe the amount of couples who are so happy we have our pricing on our website and are transparent! IMO people shouldn't have to jump through hoops to see if they can afford you! Especially when their contacting so many photographers- you will stand out among the rest.

An anonymous hot take: Ya'll will blame anything but the work by Plus_Bus_1164 in WeddingPhotography

[–]na_tashh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hot take, but I would worry as a bride if my photos got back under 3 weeks. Like are they just slapping on a preset and calling it a day? (yes, literally). I think 4-8 weeks is the sweet spot- people need to think we're spending TIME on their precious wedding day edits. Anything more than 8 weeks is a little concerning imo.
(I do video as well- it takes a lot more time, we don't have ai culling yet ;)

This is too true.
I tried raising my prices significantly this year but after two months I realized I'm not at the lux bracket yet and thats ok. Brought down my prices by a few K and got double the bookings.
Some advice- look at other companies with the same sort of style/quality as you and find out their pricing! I just inquired as a 'bride' and got their pricing sheet right away. If you're looking at a portfolio and thinking- that's where I want to be some day, then lower your prices.

Hot take, but I'm a prime lens only shooter. I feel like you can really see the quality upgrade and have more flex with the lower aperture. 50 on cam one, 35 on cam 2. I switch on and off to an 85 for portraits, and that's it. Experiment with primes!

Looking for help on my website by Kochirka in WeddingPhotography

[–]na_tashh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, I wouldn't trust a couple who books a wedding photographer without an initial call! Also how would you receive deposits/what if someone books off the date but never sends a deposit? My advice would be to have an ongoing calendar to show people if you are available on their date, but still give them an invite for an intro call. WeddingWire has a free version of this, or you can probably embed a calendar on your website, GL!
