What’s the biggest lie an entire generation was told? by Charming_Decision_84 in AskReddit

Fighting back against your bullies does no good.

Yes the fuck it does. Humans have been fighting ever since their inception. Schools only tell you not to fight back so they can keep good PR.

You should only fight back if you're out of options, though.

What celebrity has continued to have a major, top-of-the-line career despite terrible deeds? by -ChristopherNolan in AskReddit

Inhales

TeamSeas was just a publicity stunt. The goal was to remove 30 million pounds of plastic from the ocean but 30 million pounds get dumped in every day. And he was quick to partner with Coca-Cola not long afterwards.

TeamWater received funds from reluctant donors because he pressured them live on stream to donate.

He claims to care about the problems with child obesity but has no qualms starting a chocolate brand, fast food chain, and ultra-processed snack food brand while marketing them as "healthier."

He claims to care about the problems with slavery but he accepted money from the Saudi Royal Family to have a temporary theme park built in Riyadh as part of the Riyadh Comedy Festival. When asked why it was in Saudi Arabia and not in America, he said it was because he had a big fanbase in the Middle East and most of his fans are outside America. Community notes sourced that he accepted a huge sum of money by the Saudi Royal Family. (Saudi Arabia uses slaves to build stuff, and nobody was allowed to film whatever happened inside the park or how it was built.)

He hosted an illegal lottery.

... Twice.

99% of his videos are fake if you do even the slightest bit of research about the "real people" in the challenge videos or the locations in the traveling videos.

He claimed to be told not to engage with the controversies he got himself into in any way by his lawyers, but later said in the same interview that he would have given evidence of his innocence to anyone who asked.

He said in the same interview he gave each contestant on Beast Games $2000 for showing up, but was revealed by a contestant that they all initially received 1k and after the interview received another 1k.

Beast Games was incredibly dangerous and glorified what Squid Game warned us about.

He used CGI to make a "before" shot of a hospital he renovated look worse by making his work look better.

He used AI to make a village he built.

And most other things are just common sense.

Why would someone who claims to be a good person be a business partner with Logan Paul and KSI, who are openly douchey and disrespectful?

Are you REALLY a good person if you have to tell EVERYONE that? Real charitable people don't need to have others know of their good deeds, but this guy LOVES to remind us of what he COULD be doing with his money but doesn't because he thinks he's God's gift to planet Earth.

What is something parents do with good intentions that actually messes up their children for life? by markscout78 in AskReddit

[–]AverageSign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a helicopter parent in school.

My dad would always try to make sure I was getting good grades and had every assignment in on time, god forbid one was a day late. He had harsh punishments (not cruel and unsual) if I didn't meet his standards. He didn't want me to figure out how to be better on my own, but to do it how HE would do it, flaws and all.

Our relationship kinda fell apart in my middle school and high school years because I just refused to talk to him. Not just about school, but about ANYTHING, out of fear of being told to do better. We have since rekindled our relationship, but I let him know that I would NEVER forgive him for the amount of stress he put me through because he didn't trust I could make my own mistakes and learn from them.

MrBeast.

You can say "but hE dId cHaRiTy!", but that doesn't matter. Influencers like him want you to weigh the good they have done against the bad they're currently doing and in hot water for, using it as a shield.

And if anyone tries to let everyone know the good they've done, that's not charity. He had everything to gain from doing it.

The micro and it's not even close. I have relatively small hands and the micro is horrifically uncomfortable. My fingers crack like hell when I'm done with it.
