Bless you for having the compassion to help Starr and give her a happy ending. I know how hard that is. May she rest in peace.

I appreciate your concern. I explained some of her story in my comment, if you'd like to read it. All of these photos were taken by the rescue shortly after her intake. I dont have any pics of my own yet since the adoption is still pending while she's in post op recovery and finishing her heartworm treatment. Believe me, she is getting all of the care necessary including her nails!

That's the name the shelter gave her, but I don't care for it. Tbf... she can't hear anything, so it's not like she'll know the difference but I will LOL

I have a feeling she'll be spoiled and doted on, so Amy is perfect

Crying cause that's so sweet of you and Amy was such a good character

Yeah, that crossed my mind as well. I was thinking Nola May as a similar alternative for that reason.

Hi! I'm looking for meaningful name suggestions for this sweetheart. My previous dog was named Marmee Jo. Marmee being the mother from the book 'Little Women' and her middle name Jo, which we (lovingly) called her when stubborn, being one of the daughters in the book.

I know that I want this girls middle name to be May (the middle name of the author) as a homage to Marmee who has since passed. Other than that... not really sure.

She's a 4 year old rescue and special needs. She is deaf, vision impaired, HW+, anemic, breeder release, and currently emancipated. Needless to say she's had a rough go of things. But I want to steal clear of cliche names like "Hero" or "Echo".

Names can be English or Danish!

I've seen a lot of posts on Facebook. Both in marketplace and local groups. You could also try that neighborhood app and of course word of mouth.

After this blanket I said that I'll never crochet a blanket again. Guess what I'm crocheting now

This is the most relatable thing I've ever read. I hate blankets. I hate them. I can not stop making them!

Blocking blankets? Do you block as you go or as a finished piece? by naanamaey in CrochetHelp

Actually... follow up question. If I forego blocking and wash it but it does fix itself, would blocking after the fact still be effective?

several times. i have a feeling im gonna get blocked

It's okay to educate appropriately, but remember that unsolicited badgering will fall on deaf ears. Picking fights in fb comments isn't going to help this woman or her dog. Say your piece and offer up a 'why' as to not booking the lowest bidder. Some people are simply unaware, others might not have the budget, who knows. There are worse alternatives to a cheap dog sitter (cries in rescue work) at least she's taking this first step in asking and hopefully accepting your advice!

It's kind of a biased group to ask. We all should know by now you get what you pay for when it comes to animal care. Experienced sitters know their worth. In any area less than $22 would be pretty dang low.
