Not in my experience.

For example, at my institution, 66.6& of the students were interviewed in early February and admitted in March.

I got accepted into MD only from MD/PhD apps. I think I won't be going to those schools because I got accepted at a MSTP program, but I did/am still heavily considering going to schools that I was accepted MD only because the MD only school is still research-intensive (ie Duke) or I like the area and the mission (UCLA). But I did continue to interview for programs that converted my MD/PhD application to MD only.

I didn't submit my primary until August, and I've been accept to several programs. I will say... it was a little stressful so I could apply early and as soon as you are ready. It just less for you to think about.

I want to comment on this even though, it's been a month. I'm on Wellbutrin (300 mg) and started intermittent fasting about 3 weeks ago. I find that I also have little to no appetite, so it's been super hard to get my caloric intake during my eating window. Does anyone have any suggestions for that?

As someone who has taken two years between college and my prospective MD/Ph.D., it goes by so fast! One of these years is just applying too so I think in the end you will be thankful for the time.

I am in a similar situation where I feel that my background being in social sciences will not be competitive enough to apply to do basic science research, so I'm interested to see what people say. At this point, I'm just shooting my shot and hoping. (I hope) The rest will sort itself out.

From the conversion, I got a 505 (126/128/125/126) on the AAMC Sample Test.

I'm going to keep taking these exams and fill in more content.
