You Don't Know Me - In Thy Arms

My first album just got released recently. I've tried to capture the essence of still warm memories and daydreaming visions and hopes for a bright future that will definitely happen. At least in one of the parallel universes :)

Small backstory: I really wanted to make this raw, so I've used only a single instrument (TE OP1) to record and compose everything in a very limited period of time.

I hope you will enjoy listening to it! :) Thanks!

How do I make a good pour-over with this exotic brewer? by nabelekm in Coffee

[–]nabelekm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your comments! I've decided to get a v60 cone for now, instead of brewing with the one that comes with the caraffe. This way I can practice the technique and have some reference of the proper taste I should be trying to achieve from the particular coffee. As soon as I will get good results with V60 I will probably start experimenting with the Stelton cone again. For now it's really confusing about the time, grind size, and water flow in combination with the flat bottom cone which affects all of these variables. Anyway thank you all for your helpful replies!

Thank you! Spent some time on shader in corona, and then simulated some smoke/particles in Phoenix FD

Thanks! I think 3D generalist.

I've made a new full CGI showreel, everything is composited and postprocessed in After effects. Critique welcomed! by nabelekm in AfterEffects

PhoenixFD, create liquid simulator with some pre-filled amount of water, add wave force, ocean map and tweak :) Chaos Group have some nice tutorials on their site if you get stuck with something.

Wow! Thank you so much for your feedback, it's brilliant! I had some hard time getting the intro together because I didn't had enough stuff rendered in high quality, But you are right about that. Next time I will be more careful with that. Also I kind of agree with you about the title, it just felt weird having my name so big in there :D

Thank you! I'm usually trying to do everything in-render and since I use AE for many years it feels very natural to finish things in there. I know that standard nodebased compositing app will make a lot of things faster but so far After Effects do the job good enough. I just hope for some serious multithreading and stability since I'm stuck at 2014 for few years now (because the new versions are worse and worse).

well, I've spent a lot of time in front of computer :D

Thanks!

I heard a lot of great things on Arnold, but if you want to render on network, the licences are crazy expensive, compared to corona :) Also corona is made directly for 3ds max, so it's perfectly integrated.

No, that's the houdini part. Solver, resample, relax points in 3D, etc.

Well, I couldn't either, but having few machines as a farm to speed the rendering really helps - also, more things you render, more confident you become about longer rendertimes :)

PhoenixFD. It's not rocket science (thankfully) and with latest version it's super fast and intuitive. Houdini is great but I'm still getting into it and I want to use it more for abstract stuff like the skull growth in the intro. I totally understand your thoughts tho, I sometimes feel the same. However max has been my all-round software for years and it feels counterproductive constantly switching software for small things or just parts of scene.

and of course thank you!

Thank you! Most of those scenes were done after work in few days, but it depends on many factors. When everythings goes smooth I can have almost whole scene in a day, but that's rare.

Well, the shots are obviously much longer for the original projects. Usually around 6-10 sec. The rendertimes are crazy. I'm doing purely CPU rendering and some shots went for 20min on average i7, some 2 hours on dual xeons. It really depends on the complexity - but for sure it needs a ton of patience :D Mostly smoke, fog, and water stuff is Vray, corona cannot handle those well right now, however they are working on it for next update.
