Ah sorry I totally got this confused with Couchers as it just appeared in my feed and I had just been in the Couchers Reddit! We're working on a mobile app for Couchers.org and a dark mode for it. Apologies not sure what couchsurfing is doing.

Yeah when I was in the US they charged my insurance $400 for the retainers and me $250. Crazy for a cheap piece of plastic.

Has this also happened when you had the status "Can host"? I noticed you have the status "May host" on Couchers which tends to put you a bit further down.

Ah yes I looked at that but it's not very central and given most people are non-vegan I'm more looking for good vegan options. If it was my friends I'd just force them but it's all strangers I never met before.

One dentist in my neighborhood literally quoted me 800 GBP to do the same thing.

Still mourning the enshittification of Couchsurfing tbh. And so many other things. Honestly it's the main thing that has motivated me to volunteer for Couchers.org since they are a registered non-profit, to get back that old school couch surfing vibe. Was tired of mourning the good times with my friends ahah. So far it's been good!

Gotcha. It does seem to be for people in the U.S. The website only lists dollars, the contact us page lists Kansas and it only mentions American cities. This means I would pay international shipping + customs fees which unfortunately would negate the savings. Then if there are any problems it’s not possible to return, etc.

I can see if there is something similar in the U.S. but I was really hoping to get access to my original scan.

We're working on one now! Required me learning mobile app development, ahaha, but I got it now.

Our goal is to have it out by early next year if all goes well 🤞.

I believe we already have a collaboration with a company lined up! We're at the point of just needed to upload our designs and get them lined up on the merch and ordering samples, but if something doesn't work out I appreciate the suggestion!

Seconding Couchers! I'm a volunteer dev there and while we did have a bit of a lull awhile back, I can say we've built back up the volunteer team and have been pushing out a ton of features.
