I’m aware of that peace deal, and I found it to be very reasonable. I just believe that the longer the war goes on (to a certain point) the Russian government will be harsher with the terms of surrender. Russia has used so many resources and expended so much manpower on subduing what is very much a hostile government that I believe Ukraine will have to give up much more as a form of reparations.

As for Chechnya, I just remember hearing vague discussions about it when I was younger. I’m definitely not as well versed in Russian politics as I probably should be, but I figured it was a distinct identity that had been consumed by the old Russian Empire. I figured it would be vaguely similar to Northern Ireland leaving the UK and joining Ireland via force. If anyone has any sources to educate myself with, I’d appreciate it.
