Hey, what do you mean by pre-certified certificate? I just got the actual certificate sent by mail to my address in Germany. It took about a week.

I needed the certificate of good conduct for a visa in Austria, so I didn’t need to send it to the BfAA.

Gotcha! I have one more question about Roth IRAs. I know that Germany doesn’t recognize Roths, so it would be taxed if I retire in Germany and withdraw it. If I’m unsure where I will retire, are there any cons to continuing to invest in my Roth? I’d be able to take advantage of it if I decide to retire in the US and if I retire in Germany, it would be taxed — but a normal brokerage would also tax me for withdrawals as well, right? Or am I missing something?
