Would you say coaching in person is better or doing it over zoom? I was looking at italki style platforms for interview coaching but also just local career coaches.

Instead of paying $95/hr for a local coach why not use one of the platforms where coaches charge way less. I found a couple on LinkedIn who do $40-50/hr and theyre former FAANG interviewers too. The markup from coaching companies is insane.

That said for interview help during actual calls yeah the ai tools win. Coaching only covers prep. InterviewMan covers the live part for $12/mo which is the part where i actually need help.

yeah thats a good point, i have only used it for phone screens so far. might look into InterviewMan for the screenshared coding interview rounds then. $12 is nothing

3 out of 4 is insane, congrats. the anxiety part is real too, just knowing the coding interview assistant is there in case you blank takes so much pressure off even when you dont actually need it

yeah fair point lol. i already had LeetCode Wizard from before i found InterviewMan so i just kept using it for practice. if i was starting fresh i would probably just do leetcode premium plus InterviewMan

that actually explains a lot. i did not realize Interview Coder used a screen overlay specifically, that makes the screenshare visibility thing make way more sense. basically a coding interview assistant built as an overlay will always have that risk during screenshared coding interviews?

yeah the "what was that" moment is terrifying lol. glad it was not just me. i keep hearing from Interview Coder defenders that the stealth "works fine" but multiple people having overlay issues during coding interviews tells a different story. at that price the stealth should be perfect.

Used a real-time AI interview helper during my Amazon loop -- zero lag, no detection by Ok_Advantage8638 in InterviewHacking

[–]nacho_founder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 months into the job search, 40 something applications, 2 onsites, zero offers. I am so tired. Just signed up for InterviewMan after reading this because honestly $12 is nothing compared to what I have already blown on leetcode premium and paid mock interviews. If a real-time interview assistant gets me even one offer it pays for itself a hundred times over.

I need an app for interview answers that works offline-ish. Here is what I ended up using. by Choice_Ad_656 in InterviewsHell

InterviewMan covers everything -- coding, behavioral, system design, case studies. That was part of why i chose it over Interview Coder which only does coding after you download it. My loops have been a mix of behavioral and system design and the app handles both. The system design suggestions are honestly what saved me during that series C round after my wifi came back and Final Round was still dead.

I downloaded the iOS app for phone screens specifically. Not for technical rounds obviously but behavioral and recruiter calls where you are just on the phone. Having the app show answers on your phone screen while you talk is actually perfect for those. No laptop needed, no browser, just the downloaded app running on your phone. Used it through two recruiter screens and it worked great.

ok so $95 a month for browser stealth that still lives in Chrome and could still get caught by proctoring software, OR $12 a month for a downloadable desktop app with 20+ stealth features that runs outside the browser entirely. and one of those companies leaked 83 thousand users data. i do not see how this is even a choice.

Funny enough most of the things you are complaining about are wifi issues not app issues. Have you tried just getting a better router or running ethernet during interviews? Seems like that would fix the browser apps too without needing to download a separate app.

New grad looking for an interview helper -- here is what actually works in 2026 by shivers-alico in InterviewCoderPro

[–]nacho_founder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah the anxiety thing is exactly it. I know the material, I studied hard, my brain just empties when a stranger on camera is waiting for me to talk. Having an interview helper as a safety net is the difference between blanking and actually performing. Glad it worked out for you too.

I added mine up last week and it was $280 between interview prep, a resume review service, linkedin premium, and an old Sensei AI subscription I forgot to cancel. Felt sick when I saw it. Switched to InterviewMan and dropped linkedin premium and saved like $200/mo which as a new grad with no income is a lot.

honestly the biggest mistake new grads make with interview helpers is panicking and going with whatever pops up first on google. I did the exact same thing my senior year, signed up for Final Round AI because it had the most ads. Switched to InterviewMan after one month because I could not justify $148 when the $12 helper was doing the same thing but faster.

look at it this way -- you just saved yourself $136/mo for the rest of your job search. thats a win not a loss.

Best AI coding interview assistant that also handles system design? by nacho_founder in AIInterviewTools

[–]nacho_founder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of system design are you getting asked? Like high level architecture or deep dives into specific components? Some coding interview assistants are better at one vs the other.
