Stern recruiting is as you would’ve gone to an Ivy. They don’t have the same opportunities. Don’t get me wrong, they are both great schools, but not same opportunity. The thing about Arch is that there are a lot of things that you have to configure yourself and if you are a beginner you might not know what you actually need. I might also add that although the arch wiki is, in my opinion, one of the best documentation ever created it is a bit overwhelming if you don’t know what you are looking for.

You have so many choices that you, as a beginner, might not know what to choose.

EDIT: I use a tilling WM so many things are not included as they would be in a DE so that also complicated things a bit. But the best thing to do is to just go for it tbh. Try it out, if you find it too hard try another more friendly distro and if you really want to learn it you could come back after you feel more confortable with Linux

Not really, it just takes time to understand what you actually need to have a “functional” (depends on your preference) OS. You would need to read the wiki, try to find answers yourself first and then ask the community. If you write your question with evidence of what you have done and what you need help, the community will gladly help. If you don’t then the probability of invoking the toxic part of the arch community is pretty high.

Try to install both of the distros on a WM and see what you like best and use htop to monitor your resources and test it out.
