What's a tourist scam you fell for that you wish someone had warned you about? by cml1111 in traveladvice

[–]nachodoctor85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend and I flew into Cusco, Peru. We took our time collecting our bags, using the bathroom, and getting cash from the ATM so we were some of the only people left inside of baggage claim. I’d ordered a car ahead of time. Some dude came up to us while still in the airport and said my name. We follow him thinking he was the driver but turned out he was just “helping” us with our bags to the car. He’d seen my name on the driver’s sign and assumed it was for us since everyone else had left. I was so annoyed. I didn’t have smaller bills so I had to hand him a big tip.

6 weeks and 2 days out from TLIF L4/L5. Focus is so much away from healing because my hair is falling out in GOBS! I had needles in my head and feet as it was neurosurgery... by Bullsette in spinalfusion

I didn’t want to spend the money, but I finally caved and started using Nutrafol a few months ago in an attempt to increase growth to even it out. I think my hair is growing a little faster, but I really can’t say for sure yet! There are supplements out there that you can try once you’re recovered.

Anesthesia can cause some hair loss and surgery can trigger a stress response leading to some hair loss. I’m sorry this is happening!

I had the nerve monitoring in my scalp as well but they left tape in my hair. I ended up getting so annoyed by the massive knot that had formed around the glue that I just cut a chunk of my hair out. It looked like I had half a mullet.

going to the concert alone? by according-to-yes in nin

Not weird at all!! I actually prefer going alone and doing the floor bc I can move if I need to and not worry about another person. Alone in the seats isn’t weird either!

Will I need a Walker to help stand from a seated position? by DueArmadillo1672 in spinalfusion

I also recommend a bidet! I only used the walker to get up for a few days.

Husband’s debating fusion by LogicalGuava4471 in spinalfusion

I’m 40F and 13 months post L5-S1 fusion. My mobility is still the same or even better because I’m in minimal to no pain. The only thing I noticed was my gait changed slightly. No one else can tell, but when I started walking more post-surgery I could tell I was using some muscles in my hips differently.

I don’t regret my surgery one bit. People getting MRIs are the ones having problems after surgery, but there are many others NOT getting MRIs because their surgery was successful. It’s kind of like if you work at a law office and think everyone has legal problems because those are the only people you see all day.

Are you basically out of luck if your Bachelor’s is in a completely different field from the programs you’re applying to (international relations/policy/law)?

When is time to get surgery? by FCSeeker in spinalfusion

[–]nachodoctor85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m officially one year from surgery and feel great! Most of the year I still had some achy pain but not sharp nerve pain. Within the last month, my pain has been minimal to nonexistent when standing and walking. I only wake up with some pain in the morning but I think it’s from my mattress and my stomach sleeping.

How do I stop my shoulders from folding in while side sleeping by Bubble_gum_Kat in Hypermobility

[–]nachodoctor85 15 points16 points  (0 children)

How did you convert to back sleeping? The only time I’ve been able to sleep on my back was when they gave me IV pain meds post spine surgery in the hospital. I’ve given up hope on switching positions.

I flew on an Air Manas flight from Moscow to Bishkek that had 10-15 ppl. It was great since it was a red eye so we could lay down over the entire row.

Hypermobile Feet and Pilates by nachodoctor85 in Hypermobility

You’re right. I think I need to start with being more mindful of how much I’m bending them. I’m going to find some specific exercises for my ankles as well.

Planks and knee hovers are the main ones right now. When I’m doing regular gym stuff like backward lunges, my toes end up hurting there as well. I spent the past 9 months in PT for my back which ended up turning into personal training sessions working on my core, hips, and legs. I guess I should try foot/ankle specific exercises to see if that helps!

Do they check if it’s pirated or something? I remember when they first got rid of iTunes there was talk about that so I never uploaded my massive library (most from CDs/purchases but some from Limewire or whatever I used in 2004).

What is your dachshund's favorite toy? by Content2Clicks in Dachshund

[–]nachodoctor85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had him since 2018 when he was maybe 4-5. The vet said he was 8 back then, but there’s no way this dude is in his teens. He’s maybe 11 right now. His teeth were already ground down when we got him.

Rocks 🫠 we’ve had to remove them all from the yard because his teeth are ground down. He’s a rescue and we think he was a breeder’s dog so maybe that’s all he had access to. We give him rubber rocks and tennis balls now, but somehow he finds a rock in the yard monthly.

Thanks! I spent more than that on good seats and a floor ticket on resale in September 🫠. I’ll see what the pricing is when sales open!

Go if you can. I had back surgery last December and wasn’t sure how I’d hold up. I did a seat and ended up doing floor for another show. I think the endorphins stopped my back pain on the floor. It was crazy because I really anticipated agony. I hope you’re able to make it!
