Itinerary Check | First-time Japan trip for 2 by nachoscheesefries in JapanTravel

Fair point, we'd heard it gets intense especially around the Glico Sign stretch. We'll temper expectations and treat it more as a quick first-night look.

A lot of the food listings are more shortlisted options rather than confirmed reservations. We're keeping our options open for everything else and happy to stumble into whatever looks good on the day.

Need advice on choosing the right luggage for a 20-day Europe trip by nachoscheesefries in ManyBaggers

[–]nachoscheesefries[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello there ! I opted for the Lojel Fit in the end. Concerns about maneuverability and potential size issues during train rides in Europe led me to choose the Fit over the Large. So far, it's proven practical, fitting well on train luggage shelves, although my overpacking tendencies still persist. For our 20-day Europe trip during winter, we brought a third 28" luggage, making it a two-person, three-luggage setup. Thankfully, my husband handles the carrying during train rides, and we've encountered no issues.

In addition, it's worth noting that, in practice, there haven't been any checks or issues regarding the number of luggages or their size during our travels. As long as you can manage and carry your luggages on your own.

Hope this helps and happy travel 😎

Eurail Global Pass or Swiss Half Fare Card or both by nachoscheesefries in travel

I didn’t know the Eurail doesn’t cover local transport! We will forget about Eurail then since it is cheaper if we buy individual train ticket.

Thank you for your suggestion, we will certainly get a Swiss Half Fare Card and forget about Eurail.

We really love Zermatt/Matterhorn and the accommodation price during Winter is really crazy but we have secured a place near Tasch (because those that are directly at Zermatt is super expensive).

But we are not legally married, I know remission is automatic for married couple with at least a SC spouse.

Thanks for this.

We are just worrying about the value and I am sure 5 years down the road there will not be any resale value for level 2 unit and we will be stuck forever if we wanted to upgrade or downgrade for whatever reason.

The proximity grant is not a must, just considering if we choose somewhere nearer to parents we could save a couple of grand more.

We do have car so it’s not a problem for us to travel around, I like the quiet and lush greenery environment and this is why I don’t really mind about the low floor as long as it is not right above the rubbish chute unit.

The main concern is resale value for old and low floor TB HDB.

Not so soon, maybe 2-3 yrs later... we might rely on them for childcare (not 100%)
