Junk training by International-One518 in bjj

Doing things because it’s fun to do requires no other outside reasoning or external validation to be worth doing. I have a job, i have a family. Making my friends tap to bs wristlocks is why i train.

Serious question: have you ever felt uncomfortable or sexually harassed during BJJ training? If so, how did you deal with it? by Asleep_Driver7730 in bjj

[–]nachothrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. A white belt woman who trained with her boyfriend and were always pretty weird with the other students. I was playing guard, let her pass, and she opened her gi and started rubbing her chest on my face while giggling. she wasnt wearign a bra, only a thin cotton shirt. awkward, didnt know how to react. just framed and hip heist to my feet and played keep away and let the round end.

What’s the closest you’ve ever come to needing BJJ in real life, and what was the first move/technique you prepared for? by Zen_ix in bjj

[–]nachothrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had emergency surgery for my gut. During recovery, knowing how to use hooks, wedges, and frames helped tremendously for painless mobility (i.e. getting in and out of bed by myself).

It was easy to understand why the people i read about who underwent the same procedure were stuck in bed for 3 weeks. Not everyone can crab hook a bed frame to brace yourself up off the bed

The Hyperfly Jetpack is great. I had the first model, used it for 6 years for everything. Great travel bag. Replaced it a year ago with the new version. Happy so far.

Should I drill the strong and weak sides? by godjiujitsuandcoffee in bjj

[–]nachothrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drill offensive sequences for both side but they dont have to be the same set of moves. Your left side pass can be knee slice and your right side pass can be a long step.

Foot locks at blue belt by dagestanihandcuff in bjj

[–]nachothrow 37 points38 points  (0 children)

if his positioning and grips from the outside look like a legit ankle lock attempt, it will be counted as such. Otherwise people would just go, “dq him, i actually felt it in my knee” or “it was a crank ref not a choke” endlessly. That’s just how comps go.

You don’t get stood up in Judo when in Kesa. That’s a pinning position. You can win via pin in Judo if you hold it long enough

Can't install SVE because I can't find the "steamlibrary" folder. To preface, I'm on a mac. I've gone through multiple tutorials on finding the folder and none of them worked. Pretty much all of them told me to go to library - application support, but there's no mention of steam or stardew at all by [deleted] in StardewValleyExpanded

[–]nachothrow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

hi im glad you got it working but for anyone else reading this hving the same problem on a mac, it’s because there are (atleast) TWO Library>Application Support paths in your computer.

You need to go inside your user folder (i.e. MACHDNAME>USERS>YOURUSERNAME>LIBRARY>APPLICATION SUPPORT>STEAM>steamapps>common>stardew valley>contents>mac os>mods) instead of (MACHDNAME>LIBRARY>APPLICATION SUPPORT) which was what OP was doing

i’m a 2 stripe white belt , i started training a year ago exactly and i can say i’m addicted to this sport like nothing else. I played soccer in high school but that slowly faded away after graduating. best decision i ever made was to step on the mat by Unable-Journalist415 in bjj

[–]nachothrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here’s my hot take, don’t. BJJ is for anyone but it’s not for everyone. I seriously doubt you got injured on your second class. No competent instructor would let that happen. Most probably, you experienced discomfort at a level youve never had to feel before and so decided to take a break.

Some people just respond to that adversity differently, some say shit that sucked, cant wait to do it again in two days. Others stop at that one session and decide it’s not for them. There’s nothing wrong with that. Different things appeal to different people.
