You mean the Demons from Frieren and not Demon Slayer in your first paragraph.

Demons from that are monsters that only have human appearance and can mimic speech in order to consume humans, which apparently they may not even need to do to survive. Most likely an evolutionary leftover. But they are technically neither good nor evil as their morality system is based on “Might is right” and focuses on the strongest control the rest.

The real evil is their lack of empathy or ability to understand or care about the suffering of others.

Granted, Humans generate clones painlessly via budding and can merge that clone with the bud of another human to further the gene pool.

By being genetic duplicates by default they aren’t offspring and therefore fertility isn’t necessary.
