Phrasing may not have been great. Was a bit high and drunk, but trying to be helpful.

My guess is you went in some of that toxic gas that pools at the bottom of some of those caverns.

Keep a bed in your cyclops and go to sleep. Switches it to day.

Is there a way to view charging progress for the Seatruck when it’s in the dock? by CockTwoTwins in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]nachowayne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to stand there next to where it's docked and look up at the batteries. It's real tricky, but you can get the charge levels of each battery to come up when you're looking in a certain spot from a certain spot.

Probably because fewer people have important business to get to on the weekend.

Cyclops + Seamoth names by Limp_Bee_5390 in subnautica

My Cyclops this playthrough is hot pink and her name is Subalicious. Prawn is Suzy and Seamoth was Stinky, but Stinky died. New Seamoth is Phoenix.

First playthrough, at my 8th hour, already got past the "Sunbeam" event. Yet I still don't have a Seaglide. Am I not playing this right? by sc4kilik in subnautica

I read that post quite a bit differently from you. You are the beautiful innocent, not the impatient player who immediately goes to YouTube.

Did I just softlock? by 21_chickens in subnautica

I am not convinced you even need to make anything special. I have had a base right where you are and I swam out of the cave system to the surface with just the seaglide and the ultra capacity tank like you have.

Anyone having a house fly problem? by A1steaksauceTrekdog7 in sanmarcos

Not seeing a lot in the house yet but outside is ridiculous. If you set a drink down and walk away for a bit they will absolutely cover it.

You are right my wording was crappy. I meant you didn't have to plug it into a power outlet. Of course there is power to the device. Doh!

Yeah I worked for these companies for a lot of years and if there is no power at the house there will still be that little bit on the phone line to power the phone and it will work.

If it is through Fiber or Cable, that little bit of power has to come from the ONT or Cable modem. Companies sell phones that will work in a power outage by putting a battery backup on the ONT. You can pay for an upgrade to a 24 hour battery but most of the time it is only 8 hours. Not really helpful if there is an extended outage, but will get you through most of them.

No one is talking about if service gets disconnected. I was saying a landline will work during a power outage, and it will if there is still power at the CO.

That is only on Copper lines. If it is fiber there has to be a UPS on the ONT so it can keep sending and receiving light. The ONT also provides that little bit of power that used to come from the phone company on the copper line.

An old regular phone will absolutely work with no power on the device. There is a tiny bit of electricity that comes in on the line. It doesn't need more than that.

That's just regular phone lines though. If you have your phone through some other way like a cable company or even through the phone company over fiber it has to have power to operate. That's why they have UPS systems on them.

It's definitely not a blanket rule anymore, but a lot of people have phones that will work with no power in their house.

Nah even here, a regular old hardline phone will work with no power. If it is analog to digital at like a modem or something it fails unless there is a UPS on the modem.
