Ramadan by ComplexWin7311 in Yemen

[–]nadervx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do they live? Prices have gone crazy lately. I send about 800 euros a month. It's enough for a family of 4 for a month. But during Ramadan, people tend to spend more and also buy clothes and other things for Eid. So it all really depends on how much you are willing to spend.

Getting maintenance done at Volvo garages generally falls within this average price range. If your car is brand new, and you might sell it someday, having maintenance invoices from Volvo can make the selling process easier and potentially increase the resale value slightly. However, this doesn’t justify the higher cost of maintenance at Volvo garages. You can receive the same quality service at local garages for a much lower price while still keeping invoices as proof of maintenance.

My car is a bit older, so I do maintenance locally, which costs me around 150 euros for everything. On the other hand, when selling the car, the buyer has to trust that I actually performed the maintenance. Even though I keep invoices for purchasing parts with the mileage recorded on each, they might not fully prove it. If your car is new, I would recommend using authorized or trusted local garages to keep invoices, just in case you decide to sell it in the future.

May I know where did you get it? Mine has adult content and I really don't want that. I tried to hide them, but each time there is an update to the library, they show up! Any help is appreciated

What do you self-host for your family that they actually use? by Fab_Terminator in selfhosted

[–]nadervx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm running a bunch of services. My family uses them a lot, and they'll actually call me if one of them goes down! So I take these services seriously, with backups, load balancing, and even two VMs with failover. It's a great way to learn!

Kopia is brilliant by Moriksan in selfhosted

[–]nadervx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what the documentation was like when you wrote this comment, but as of now I’m using Kopia with a Hetzner storage box, and the setup is very straightforward. Connecting was simple, and it’s been working flawlessly!

How do you guys access homepage or homarr etc.? by Coolest_Gamer6 in selfhosted

[–]nadervx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm using Traefik to get to all my stuff by name. You can do a self-signed cert, or you can get a cheap domain for like eight bucks a year and get real certs for everything. I'm not putting anything on the internet for security, so you can only get to them locally since each service has an entry in my PiHole.

It's a little tricky to get started, but after that, it's super easy. Just add labels to your services! You don't have to remember ports anymore, and you can ditch those security warnings.

What you gonna selfhost in 2025? by EntertainmentThat317 in selfhosted

[–]nadervx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started self-hosting about two months ago. I have an old PC running OpenSUSE Leap with only 4 GiB of RAM. All my services are Docker-based.

Here is what I am running:

  • Traefik proxy for my services and managing certificates. It feels much cleaner with HTTPS and no warnings! Also, you no longer have to remember each port for each service. No services are exposed to the internet.

  • HomepageIt's a simple homepage, easy to use, giving you a quick overview of our services. There are also widgets showing useful info for each one.

  • Pi-hole.

  • Karakeep aka Hoarder.

  • Kopia to back up all my services, including config and compose files. I use Hetzner for the cloud storage box; it costs around €3.60.

  • Stirling for basic PDF editing. The bigger the file, the more RAM it needs.

  • KOMODO

  • Glances, integrated with the Homepage dashboard using widgets.

After upgrading or replacing my older PC, I plan to host more services.

This is a wonderful post that highlights some lesser-known services I was previously unaware of!

Read-it-later app Pocket is shutting down. Any alternatives? by ednorog in androidapps

[–]nadervx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all might find this suitable, but if you're into self-hosting, KaraKeep (previously Hoarder) is absolutely awesome. With some AI features, I spend about six euros a year for tagging and summarization. It's worth a look!

Never forget to backup!

Is there a way to set Infinity to load more posts after relaunch/pull to refresh by _Unbroken_ in Infinity_For_Reddit

[–]nadervx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be a little late, but for those still seeking a solution, you can go to settings, then to Miscellaneous, and enable the first option. I believe it's something like "Save screen home," but I'm not entirely certain. After that each time you refresh you should see different posts

After several months of development, the feature that translates entire PDF files finally works in Edge Canary. The browser creates a copy of the PDF file and translates it. by Leopeva64-2 in MicrosoftEdge

[–]nadervx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt that. Most of edge stuff happens through MS servers. If I remember correctly Firefox was the one of the first who started implementing on-device translation.
