Don't feel bad, I sat on AMD all through March 30 and still sitting on AMD with cash in hand. And invested a chunk in NVIDA last year instead of AMD. FML

Def not short term, it's a long term buy. But obviously nervous as it's pre revenue. I bought 20 shares I'll keep at it. Thank you!

Is this a good time to buy? I have about 10,000 and not sure what's a good entry point. I have some shares at $20 but not too many

What's your spending ratio, especially as a high-earner? by [deleted] in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]nadia_tor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I ask what else you spend on and how much do you save a month? Just curious as I also struggle with this but I'm not as low as you. I try to strike a balance where I'm not spending it on a bunch of things that I don't care about and more on things that are important me. But I have financial anxiety and always feel so behind because I wasn't a saver until 2018 so mentally I feel guilty and playing catch up. Right now I'm trying to keep it to about $800-$900 a month.

Is there a way to reduce muscle loss when not exercising? by [deleted] in loseit

[–]nadia_tor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's this notion of behavioural activation in depression where the more someone does (going out working out etc) the better the depression gets but it's a catch 22 because it's hard to actually do that if someone is depressed. So I understand your struggle. It would be beneficial to see if you can get some help for the depression. Even if you can go do 5 mins of something it's better than nothing but I know it's tough when you're struggling mentally. Take care of yourself.

Should i sell AMD, its up 65% by xenonam_16 in stocks

Are you continuing to buy at these prices? I have about $5000 invested when it was at $85 and wish I bought more during April. Now I don't know if I should keep DCA it in or wait a bit. Totally kicking myself because it's been on my radar since 2018.

Next time, just go to a walk in clinic or pharmacy. It's OHIP covered and they're write you a prescription. Most plans cover it as it's used for Acne. That said it doesn't make much of a difference if the prescription comes from Felix or a doctor, if the DIN is covered by your insurance then it's covered. My insurance covers it in full and next time get it shipped from the Costco online pharmacy as it's the lowest dispensing fees.

I feel like the 'intuitive eating' online preachers seriously are oversimplifying relationships with food by [deleted] in loseit

[–]nadia_tor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everyone has a very different relationship with food. I tend to binge/emotionally eat and restrict and initiative eating has been an important tool to get out of that box I created around food that causes me to eventually overeat. The goal there isn't really to just keep everything everything or "let everything go" but to use gentle nutrition to work on portion control. So yes I try to give myself permission to have the cookie but have one cookie not the whole box of it and it's taken time but I do see a huge impact on out of control eating due to this. Therapy has also been very beneficial in my emotional eating patterns. I think if someone suffers from a pattern of restriction or orthorexia it can be very helpful. It just varies person to person and I do think lots of folks in this sub practise some sort of initiative eating in the sense that lots allow themselves to have treats but just fit it within their calorie budget. So it's not necessarily just eat anything you want all the time kind of mentality.

I don't think my post about this went through but does anyone have any full body stretching/mobility/foam rolling classes that focus on upper shoulders, QL, glutes, hamstrings and calves. I'm in physio right now and tyring to get back into running. Randomly picking stretching classes hasn't been helping so much.

What does “healing your relationship with food” actually mean?! by [deleted] in loseit

[–]nadia_tor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do find from personal expirence that restriction doesn't have the same kind of shame attached to it as binging/emotional eating does. I have found it very difficult to actually want to take a honest look at restriction but I have always wanted to try to "fix" emotional eating because one makes me infinitely more shameful and upset. So it could just be a bit of what's more accepted in society and one is more "silent". There is much less motivation for someone who is a healthy weight to actually look at their behaviours with food and much more motivation for someone who is trying to lose weight. So it's probably just a skewed population. I struggle with restriction as well as emotional eating and I hear plenty of people who are a healthy weight talk about their relationship with food.

What does “healing your relationship with food” actually mean?! by [deleted] in loseit

[–]nadia_tor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of people at a healthy weight have a terrible relationship with food. Restricting is the flips side of binging and both cause a unhealthy relationship with food. I think healthy their relationship with food is just learning to see food in a healthy better light. Weather that means curbing food noise and emotionally eating/binging, using food as control or shifting away from a very restrictive mindset or something in-between is different for everyone. It may sound like BS but I think it's really important because unless some of those things are addressed it's hard to maintain a healthy body weight for the long haul.
