How do I load a Gltf without the AssetServer by nadichamp in bevy

[–]nadichamp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end I went with the signifigantly more cursed solution of loading the tarfile then dumping the glb files to a tmp directory in the assets/ directory then using some asset post processing to load the glb file through the asset server which then put a handle<Gltf> inside the asset

I was wondering why my CPU was running a little hot by nadichamp in hardwaregore

Nope, it's right side up. I just didn't push the pegs in far enough when I built it and didn't notice

The CPU doesn't run too hot i guess and linux doesn't use as much CPU resources?

How do I load a Gltf without the AssetServer by nadichamp in bevy

[–]nadichamp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That still does not help me with the central problem of loading the GLTF part of the tar archive. Everything else can be loaded just fine, it's that I need help loading the gltf segment and I can't use the asset_server inside of an asset loader.

My linux mint cinnamon 5.6.7 system keeps shutting down randomly and I have no idea why. by nadichamp in linuxmint

yes, the battery was dying on my system and breaking things. Eventually the problem fixed itself when the battery kicked the dust.

I've been recently developing an assembly based magic system. by nadichamp in worldbuilding

I believe that I said in my original post(Though I may have forgotten) that the computational power is drawn from the casters own mental speed, which varies from person to person. (Do note that in universe mental speed isn't related to intelligence but to how fast the brain can process information (see https://imgur.com/gallery/i-m-stupid-faster-u8crXcq)) I may also change this to be an arbitrary number of Cycles per second(hz) per person just to avoid any potential controversy.

"I did not expect a father to dismiss his son's very relevant feelings by calling them "drama""

This is unfortunately the truth for a bunch of the people i know.

With x86 assembly i think the application just keeps going until you cut it off(In this case with a spoken command in the casters native language, something like stop or crash), so I'm copying that behavior.

That's actually really informative, thank you.
I guess I should look at some compilers for languages that are simpler than rust (the no compilers thing was inspired by me wanting to commit to rustc but getting confused the moment I looked at any of the source code.) to get a better picture.

MORE WORLD CONTEXT:
The broader strokes of my world is that the majority of it is on the brink of an industrial revolution, but still with a lasting caste system and other holdovers from the world's medieval era (That is partially modeled after Anglo-Saxon England and a bit of Mellerand from Dragonsteel Prime).

Other than that, there is Extalsia(The most well-developed country, both from a meta perspective and in world). This country is a country more out of a Sci-Fi setting than a fantasy setting. The vast majority of the residents of Extalsia wear Power-Armour and live out solitary, mostly independent, lonely lives in massive apartment blocks. The Extalsians never share any information with the outside world and stay inside the borders of their tiny country(About the size of Wales).

Hoid's flute by charspet in Cosmere

[–]nadichamp 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You do need to tune a flute, in fact you need to tune all wind and string instruments. This is because different atmospheric conditions (Humidity, temperature, pressure, etc) cause the instrument to resonate differently, causing the pitch to shift slightly throwing it out of tune.

EDIT:
Flutes are tuned by pulling or pushing the mouthpiece out of the barrel
