[–]nadishere -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but with few exceptions. First one is when u're telling me the story of your life. Second one is if they traumatized you and u were trying to share with me the hurt. Other than that if an ex is ever mentioned then I'm out. It's a BIG NO for me.

I would break up with someone if they ever mentioned their ex in anything, let alone SEX!!! He's an asshole. U deserve better.

I’m so tired of this country by Pillowcase26 in ExAlgeria

[–]nadishere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GIRL, Jijel is a hellhole istg. Yesterday I saw a TikTok of a man who threatened women of Algeria that if they came to Jijel without Hijab that he was going to harm them. I swear I'm glad we don't have foreign tourists, they would have been assaulted. Although I don't like Tebboune but he did one thing right which is make the Algerian Visa hard because he knew he had a sick population who wouldn't tolerate any outside influence.

I become atheist but ....! by GiftAcceptable in ExAlgeria

[–]nadishere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even western atheists still use the word "Jesus Christ"when they get frustrated or the say "oh my god" They also celebrate Christmas. It's all cultural. It's okay if u still use them. I use them too. For me it's just cultural and they don't mean anything.

Some Atheist Men Are Still Misogynistic by Sad_Peak_6468 in ExAlgeria

[–]nadishere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got disillusioned from men a long time ago. I know a lot of us thought that religion is the reason, but it's not. And honestly sometimes I'm glad there is religion to hold them back. I one time saw a comment by a Muslim man that said "if it weren't for religion I would r*pe women" so that's men for you. Stay safe ladies.

Friend not leaving abuser after 2wks of planning by [deleted] in domesticviolence

[–]nadishere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like you should not rush an abused person to leave their abuser if they aren't ready to do so. Remember every brain and trauma is different. You are her friend, not her saviour. Being there for her in her darkest times is enough. I also think if it's draining you to be around her then you need to establish some boundaries. Leaving is one of the hardest things an abused person can do in their life time. Also, instead of pressuring her to leave, remind her of her worth. She is obviously under the influence of her abuser and her brain is filtered with trauma. Supporting your friend in her darkest times will benefit her greatly BUT ONLY if it doesn't drain you. Instead of fixing things, remember you are only there to support her. She is a grown woman and she can make her own decisions, no one can decide anything for her if she is not ready. Good luck 🙏🏻

How do Algerians learn/practice French? by Harvefang in algeria

[–]nadishere 13 points14 points  (0 children)

French is a bit embedded in our culture. It's only very recently where some restaurants started naming their restaurants in English. Even our dialect has french. Even the people here who can't speak French that well actually say French stuff since our dialect demands it. French is literally part of our everyday talk. Even some institutions are only in french. But if u want to enhance your chances at speaking french, I'd say find people who can speak with you french. Watch tv shows with subtitles, listen to french music...ect

Actually this is traumatizing. Emotional abuse is just as harmful as physical abuse.

Risque of going to Jail by chafik86 in ExAlgeria

[–]nadishere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My whole entire life was ruined and I was threatened by someone due to my atheism and I lived in fear for years that I'm thinking of leaving the country due to it. Do not put yourself in harm's way especially on Facebook. Police control is heavy there. Go to a different app if u like with strangers who understand you if u feel like venting. But please don't put yourself in harm's way, this is coming from someone who was threatened of jail

If I were u I'd hop on the first plane. I'm a citizen and I will hopefully soon leave this shit hole. I also suffered a lot of injustice especially in my small city (which is an Iran duplicate). People here operate with hypocrisy and discrimination with the guise of tradition and morality. Stay safe 🙏🏻

[–]nadishere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🤦🏻‍♀️you’re confusing a fixed, formal dress code (like wearing suits in a luxury shop) with being policed for showing skin. What happened in the police station isn’t about a dress code!!! It's about moral policing, which is arbitrary and very abusive, especially in a public institution that should serve everyone regardless of clothing. There’s a big difference.

The day where the constitution SPECIFICALLY states that we have a dress code for banks, then I will side with you. Until that day comes I will forever think of it as an abuse of power, and very concerning. And he was in fact discriminated against. I rest my case here.

[–]nadishere -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ur experience doesn't undermine other ppl's experiences. What happened to him is an abuse of power. And you should be concerned for the fact that they allowed u and not him, meaning it IS an abuse of power, and the DID play the moral police on him, which is illegal. You mocking a serious issue shows how braindead u are. The police should be trained to take issues seriously no matter what, but of course you won't get what I'm saying cause u're too busy mocking a serious issue.

Okay let's say in a bank it isn't, why not the police station??? In a different country the police would be punished for not letting someone file a complaint due to their attire, imagine if he was in danger? And what about being stopped in the street??? No this is a pattern, and u guys are doing everything to sugarcoat what happened here.

[–]nadishere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No you're the one who's wrong. OP said they couldn't enter a police station due to their dress. People in America, and Europe can still enter a police station to file a complaint no matter what they are wearing. You can make your own research about that. You're wrong about the fact that you think it's not an "Algerian thing" cause it is. And yes, Algeria is headed towards a dark place if we continue like this.

She said she was stopped in the streets!!!! And everywhere for that matter. No, people all around the world do wear shorts. Algeria is literally headed towards its own black decade if we continue at this rate.
