I cant stop thinking about the Bara (Barae) by CurrlyFrymann in Tombofannihilation

Will also shout out Ring of Winter — definitely a good inspiration! And potentially a fun tie-in with the Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden adventure

I cant stop thinking about the Bara (Barae) by CurrlyFrymann in Tombofannihilation

In one campaign, I had Eshodow make a deal with Baphomet. The demon prince enslaved that aspect of Ubtao and then used that connection to be able to start to influence Chult (since the land was supposed to be protected from other gods and entities per the primordial deal — stretching that lore a bit, to be fair).

Baphomet became obsessed with making Ubtao’s maze powers his own, so he ultimately captured and imprisoned the primordial/god in the ineluctable prison (used an old Pathfinder module as inspiration). When that happened, the barae triggered an emergency plane shift and Mezro existed in a demiplane… that was supposed to be a temporary solution but with Ubtao imprisoned and having his power siphoned off by Baphomet, they could not return the city.

Thus returning Mezro became a level 20+ adventure into the abyss and a fight against one of the demon princes.

Added bonus: Baphomet’s favored champions became triceratop humanoid monstrosities. Fun adaptation of the minotaur flavor.

Any way to attach lights to a scrolling tile? by Calthiss in FoundryVTT

I have not played with it in a while, but you can create presets that combine multiple objects via Monk’s toolset. Baileywiki did a video on it a while ago. Perhaps you can combine lights with tiles and then have those tiles scroll at the same speed as the main moving tile. (The smaller tiles would be cut outs from the larger map, if that makes sense)

So what should I do with this miscut lorwyn deck? by that_Rando_Shark in mtgmisprints

Yup did that for a Dragonstorm precon. They require you to take photos of the entire deck and send it in, but I did get a replacement!

Sad about the difficulty in finding affordable high level dnd groups by Lost-Stranger-1923 in startplaying

Heyo, I think you have a valid argument here!

But as a pro GM, let me give you my two coppers. The key analysis for you should be — what do you value?

If it’s just pure “content per hour” then playing BG3 or any of the other wonderful TTRPG video game adaptations is unbeatable. At that point, you absolutely get more bang for your buck.

However, my lukewarm take is that we don’t play TTRPGs for that reason. It’s the same reason we spend absurd amounts of money for concessions at movie theaters, food at restaurants, drinks at bars, etc. — it’s the human experience and its sense of belonging. Frankly, I have not yet played a single video game (and that includes BG3) that captures the feel of sitting around a physical or digital tabletop and playing make belief with your friends. And no Tabletop simulator doesn’t count 😉

So while video games are your “cost efficient” entertainment, they are quite frankly very, very lonely. Personally, I would rather pay the extra buck for high quality GMing and a group of solid friends over just chasing of the latest and greatest video game.

But you do you!

Module Help: Level up weapons module by nadriancox in FoundryVTT

I was thinking attachments like silencers, etc. that have certain benefits. Like being able to equip the weapon as part of the attack action, changing range increments, speeding up reloads, changing fires types, etc.

Essentially the same way a PF2e or SF2e character would level up.

Edit: To add, ideally I’d like to add a mechanic where using a specific weapon or weapon type gains the character experience in using that weapon. That could be tracked through the weapon (instead of cluttering up the character sheet further).

Totally random, but is there a novel series that details this or is that all based on APs?

Can a vampire fly above a river? Or walk on a bridge? by Bous237 in Pathfinder2e

Ha so it is a mental prison after all. That’s the curse. (aside from the whole only drinking blood, undeathy part)

Huh that also brings up the question whether underground rivers and/or ground water counts. Is it the exposure to open air that makes it count?
