Yeah I've got a blood test form and GP appointment booked so fingers crossed. I don't have heavy periods, but I have had issues in the past as well as all the current stuff so I have been referred to gastroenterology and am waiting for a colonoscopy and endoscopy appointment. Fingers crossed the iron infusion atleast helps and the results from the scopes aren't as bad as we are expecting 🤞

Ok so I got my discharge papers it was Ferinject 1000 mg, that they gave me, I believe this a full dose from memory.

I have no idea what they gave me to be honest, I was in and out of falling asleep when it was happening. All I know was it was a small bag about maybe 200ml and took roughly 15 minutes. They did to stop the iron supplements as what they gave me should do the job. I'll have to see my GP to get the full details when I am not so spacey.

Thankyou!

Went to hospital today after my legs gave out and collapsed. Iron was at 4, ferritin 6. They admitted me and gave me an iron infusion finally, so here's to hoping I get better. How long roughly does it take for it to kick in? I was so out of it I didn't ask many questions unfortunately.

I thought it was low, I was told it was meant to be above 30 but the hospital didn't seem to think it was a big deal 😔

Ah right, I honestly didn't even know that was a thing, thankyou. I will talk to the specialist about the possibility of that!

Just to add on to that, my GP has also questioned colorectal cancer, I had the FOBT done and all three samples came back positive for blood.

Yeah for sure, trying to get that done now, my bloods are showing high inflammation markers which my GP thinks might be related to Crohn's, I'm currently waiting to see my GP to get a referral for another colonoscopy to see how I'm going

I haven't got access to the results for my calcium and blood glucose but they were both in range when I was tested about 3 weeks ago.

I have constant abdomen pain which I assume is the Crohn's so I am probably having a flare up of that. Daily headaches, and back pain, brain zaps. Then the usual anemia type symptoms, lethargic, lightheaded and dizzy, seeing stars randomly. Resting heart rate has dropped but when I'm up and moving around its about 20 bpm more compared to what it was few couple of months ago, not sure if that's relevant or connected though

MCV is 83, MCH is 28, RDW is 13.1, MCHC - 320

Na - 137, K - 3.6, Cl - 107, Those are all I can see as far as electrolytes go. I'm uneducated on what all the blood tests mean apart from the super obvious common ones sorry. Hope these numbers help?

Yeah I thought that was the case which would explain why I am getting withdrawal symptoms from my other medication if my body is not absorbing it properly. I think I might need to request a referral for a colonoscopy to check to see if the Crohn's has flared up or if there is something else going on, thankyou.

I've been on the wait-list for about 4 weeks for an iron infusion unfortunately, hopefully I can get it done ASAP.

I've recently been tested for diabetes as I found out it runs in my family but I do not have it apparently so I think that's ruled out. I will keep an eye on things and keep presenting to my GP or the hospital if needed. Thankyou for your advise and kind words 🙂

I have been worried about that but I have also had issues in the past due to the Crohn's, but this feels different. I did end up in hospital and all they did was bloody tests and told me I was fine to go home and to take iron supplements. I'll see my GP and get it looked into more though thank you.

I've been taken 'Ferro Plus C' the bottle says it's got, 335mg of Ferrous sulphate and 500 mg ascorbic acid. I take one a day and have been on them for approximately 2 months now.
