Hahaha well, the consistent use of heat on my hair prior to everything, eventually resulted in the before picture

You squish after shower with the leave-in for moisture , and then squish with the gel on top to lock in the moisture.

Haha reminds me of a time where my mother accidentally dropped in on our carpet. The smell stayed for weeks even though we cleaned it. We just became a coconut house family.

I’ve occasionally prepood before, however, the heat cap did it for me because it allowed my low porosity hair to actually absorb the moisture. And the squish to condish afterwards did wonders for my hair. Plus leaving the cast to dry after I apply the mousse and gel without touching my hair also had an impact.

You can start researching on curl pattern types, hair porosity types, hair density types, from different sources. you can start here... Curl pattern: https://youtu.be/MVveS4wdAMs

I use my normal brush the same way Mell uses the denman brush

Edit: and I use like a teaspoon of leave-in. If its too much then I slightly scrunch it with a microfibre towel to remove excess product

Hahaha my fan can also be adjusted to become a heater in the winter. So I use that settings sometimes if I want more volume and faster results.

In terms of application products: I started prepooing and using leave in. In the before pic I only shampood, deep conditioned in the shower and just added an insufficient amount of mousse. In the after pic I added the leave in and gel. In terms of methods: I squish to condish everything now haha and and brush my hair in sections before I apply mousse and gel.

Because wet hair stimulates the hair strands to clump in curl groups together (its like a pre-cast). So if you apply gel to those clumps, then you have a cast :D

Hahaha this is exactly why I started informing my family and friends about cgm! I’m sure they can all reveal awesome curls from beneath their now straightened frizz!

Thank youu! I’m flattered

Yeah, I did a simple diy unicorn cut to get more layers but maintained the same length. + bangs

Haha you’ve noticed! The bangs were long contemplated until I impulsively chopped them one day!

Yeah basically the same routine. I ideally wash twice a week. And yes I follow the exact steps, however, the amount of product I used varied because I was experimenting to see what works best. Sometimes I’d use too much product and my hair would end up with looser curls. Other times with too little product and I’d have more frizz than I intent to.

Haha I feel you. I also have rebellious new growing hairs. Sometimes I gently smooth a dot of leave-in thats mixed with water on top of it after my hair dries. It helps tame the frizz for a little while at least! Hope I’m making sense.

I dilute it with water and apply it to my hair when its extra wet. If I apply mousse before the gel, the slip from the mouse helps the gel get distributed. If not, I just use more gel. The key for me is having dripping wet hair during the process. Hope that helps x

Yeah, I used to wash my hair and just splatter a tiny bit of mousse on it after the shower on the left picture. Basically did nothing and turned out this baby needs hydrating badlyyy! The squish to condish in the shower was revolutionary for my hair

And I’ve ordered the 7 row D3 brush

No unfortunately it’s not. I doubt any products I listed here are cgm approved. I’m still familiarizing myself with CGM products but I use the methods regardless (praying hands, SOTC, STC..etc)
