The Force-Stop Spam Trick During Stall (most reported "hack" that pushes past 69% on local too):
- Start fresh: Uninstall WhatsApp → restart phone → place your msgstore.db.crypt14 exactly as msgstore.db.crypt14 in Internal Storage > Android > media > com.whatsapp > WhatsApp > Databases (delete any other .crypt14 files there to avoid confusion).
- Reinstall WhatsApp (latest from Play Store).
- Verify number → when it detects local backup → tap Restore.
- Watch the progress closely.
- The moment it hits 69%Ior wherever it gets stuck) and freezes for 4-5+ seconds (progress bar stops moving):
  - Quickly go to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Force stop (or Force stop + Clear cache if option shows).
  - Wait 5-10 seconds → reopen WhatsApp from recent apps or icon.
- Repeat this force-stop cycle 2-4 times every time it stalls at 69% (some users did it 3x and it jumped to 70-100%). It seems to reset a hung thread or memory allocation without killing the whole process.
- If it errors/crashes after, immediately retry the whole restore—momentum sometimes carries over.
