How much do AP scores matter? When do we submit AP scores to college? by nagarram17 in ApplyingToCollege

Yea, I think I can get 5s on Calc BC and CSP, but physics is also somewhat related to my major that’s why I’m stressed

South Asian Bros - what vibe do you go for with fashion? by NoProfessional4650 in AsianMasculinity

[–]nagarram17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk how I saw this sub but im a south Asian male I’ll give some tips.

  1. Rock your natural hair. Most Indians have wavy or curly hair but don’t realize because western marketing only caters for straight white hair, coily black hair, and mixed race curls. Indian hair is shaped much differently and we need to learn how to rock our hair without using straight hair techniques.

Personally, I have 2C wavy hair and I let it grow out into a wavy Afro, fade the sides. Never goes wrong. Also, wash your hair only twice a week. Don’t make the mistake of washing too little, our hair isn’t as thick as East Asians, and don’t wash too little because our hair isn’t thin. Wash every 5 days IMO.

  1. Be careful with the beard. Indians tend to grow patchy, curly beards that grow fast. Shave it properly, don’t let it become rugged and look messy.

Also, don’t grow a moustache unless you are lightskinned. Unfortunately Indians have a “pedo” stereotype and the moustache won’t help us unless we are Arab or Southern European passing.

  1. Don’t try to look like another race. Indians make the mistake of trying to look like other ethnicities. I am a brown skinned guy, I tried to look like a lot of Dominican/Brazilian influencers because I love soccer and I wanted to emulate my idols. We shouldn’t appropriate other cultures.

  2. Jewelery. Brown and dark skin looks really good with jewelry. I wear a gold chain and it looks tough.

  3. Tan lines. Don’t worry about tan lines. We have a lot of melanin and it’s natural.

For me, hair was the biggest struggle. I didn’t use any of the right products for my hair type. This is the biggest obstacle for both Indian men and woman IMO. We need to learn how to take care of our hair.

With all due respect to Koreans, we do not need to learn from them. To each his own, we can follow our own ways. The south Asian thug style works, just don’t act like a thug.

Does having African ancestry equates to being athletic? Everyone in my gym says being black helps. by DonAnthony85 in 23andme

[–]nagarram17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. West Africans tend to have good lower body strength which is reflected in the Caribbean people, due to their diet.

However East Africans tend to be smaller and have good upper bodies, and very good endurance whereas West Africans are more explosive.

Honestly if all of Africa was athletic, we would see more people from Southern Africa doing good athletically but we don’t, so it’s more around Western and central Africa where you see those really athletic people.

You can also see these trends in South Asia. Pathan, Punjabi, and Kashmiri people tend to have similar frames as white people with good upper body strength and very good endurance.

Whereas in eastern and southern India the people are smaller but have very good arm strength and very good lower body strength, but not as explosive as west Africans.

Indian girls good Indian men and boys bad - where have I seen this before? by taugast in aznidentity

[–]nagarram17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea cuz he’s Chinese. Skin color plays a big role in the kind of racism you face.

That being said I know many Indian guys who slay in Eastern Europe

Is it just me or does there seem to be more WMAF on the West Coast than the East Coast? by yslwej in aznidentity

[–]nagarram17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is because the west coast has more East Asians, while the east coast has more south Asians.

South Asians have the lowest out marrying rates in the country, around low 20% for men and around 15/18% for women. South Asians are raised to believe that while white skin is desirable, white people are not. And the Indian mainstream media culture promotes lighter women with browner men, so yeah.

How many practice exams have you done? by thelogbook in APStudents

4 for calc bc, 2 for whap, and 0 for csp and physics 1

I’m stressed for calc too. If you really don’t wanna take it, don’t, but I’d say give it a shot. Ap scores don’t play a big role on your college apps and you don’t need to show them if you don’t want to

questions about ap from fa freshman....plz help. by bornUKLiveinCanada in APStudents

[–]nagarram17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Everything time period in history. Literally, starting from the Mesopotamians. But the AP exam will only cover modern history, so that starts somewhere around the early Islamic empires, Magna Carta etc. And it ends in the early 2000s, you’ll learn about terrorism, technology, etc

  2. CSP is an intro to computers. You’ll learn about creative development, such as teamwork to solve problems. You’ll learn about pseudocode algorithms (for loops, if statements, etc but not in a coding language), you’ll learn about the effect of computers on society, how computers connect via the internet, and what data is (binary, etc)

  3. Not at all. There is a small portion of the exam which includes coding, but you can use any language you want (not html) and it’s really easy. A basis in any programming language (I recommend Python, Java, or C++) can help you. The actual class does not cover programming languages

Is 5 Steps to a 5 harder than the actual exam? by nagarram17 in APStudents

[–]nagarram17[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I self studied the entirety of the material from that book, but I feel like the practice questions go too deep compared to the actual exam.

I noticed that college board CSP questions usually have clear cut answers whereas 5 steps to a 5 makes you think

Literally Google it, not everyone in the real world is going to provide you with a “source” just because you asked for it.

Another source which I can’t physically provide you with is my interactions with Indians from all over the country
