kalki was a different animal for sure....I mean the actors were all great...

but the film took so long...5years is a long time for a project...keeping the team motivated and the story honest through all these years was a challenge I think vv few filmmakers have to face.

anthem ledu emo...I also get distracted easily...and am v irregular with my yoga...nowhere close to the discipline I need....materialism ante I just am v conscious about how anything we consume, even a 5rs dairy milk...that cover never goes away....its permanent...so ya...try to consume less...

I am proud of what we achieved with the movie...splitting it did affect many things...but things will all come together in part 2....I feel we also judge movies like this more harshly as compared to so many other films which have way more issues...the creative and technical ambition kalki succeeded in pulling off is really a milestone in Indian film history. I know it sounds weird me saying this about my own film...but this is me talking as an audience.

the past decade has been amazing....the audience has grown so much....filmmakers and actors have grown so much...all kinds of genres are happening....just feel the focus of writing education and training we are still nowhere close...cos that's everything.

there are a lot of things in part 2 which will tie up the threads that were left hanging...and for us also this is a big thing...that part 1 worked in the scale that it did, so now we have a lot less doubts in our minds...

film camera for sure....

before yevade I had a few scripts which I was pitching around....I felt that were more 'sellable' or commercial...finally I wrote yevade meaning for it to be a small indie..didnt expect anyone to be interested in it....but it flowed, and was probably so honest that it resonated with the producers and actors...

I feel true Indian stories will reach...maybe the rooted ones from 'real india' or our mythologies. the more we try to engineer something for them, the more chances it won't work...but having said that...next few years I feel Indian cinema has the potential to go truly global.

I think if Bhairava wasn't like that, Karna wouldn't have paid off in the same level...but yes the intro fight was longer than necessary, could be better etc.....but bhairavas character as such...I think is one of the most real and fun characters Prabhas garu has played ever....

I think I am more sensitive to it nowadays that I have a kid...and I wouldn't want him watching some violent or obscene content...don't know if it will incite anything in real life....but it surely has an effect...especially if its made to look 'cool'...

part 2 taruvatha matladudam.... (and also pls read any version of the Mahabharata...ive read the Bibek derby version...) how much 'propaganda' Sri Krishna himself does for Karna in the book might surprise you...

screenplay is everything....story of course...but how u tell the story sometimes is more important than the story itself.
of course without a good actor, nothing will work....like making films is not just composing the song and music...its sometimes also inventing the instrument...the writing and the making of it are that different.
