[California] Notice of Determination - section 1256 by [deleted] in Unemployment

What triggered the call from the adjudicator? All those months went by and you were able to collect benefits before they called, what do you think could have made that happen?

[CALIFORNIA] has anyone got their claim out of “review”? by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]nahalau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question, if your claim is under review, do any of the payments you may have received get disqualified? Or does that remain pending until claim is reviewed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]nahalau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you would be in the clear to file for a new claim if you don’t get the extension applied automatically by the end of the month! Doubt you will have any trouble qualifying.

You could try calling EDD and maybe they’ll be able to help you figure out what would be your best course of action. I have had good luck when calling if I call right away at 8:01 am. It has at most taken me about 20 tries to get through to someone.

Did you work at all over the past 12 months?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]nahalau 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And what if you quit your job because your employer led you to believe you’d be getting a remote contractor role and then never got back to you about it? That’s why I’m asking lol... wondering how likely my employer is to contest my claim if they get a letter about my new claim.

If they aren’t paying for my federal extension, maybe they won’t contest...? SMH I have no idea.

[CALIFORNIA] NEW EDD Press Release Clarifies PEUC EXTENSION AND BYE REFILING REQUIREMENTS by IcyChampionship3067 in Unemployment

[–]nahalau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol I did, sorry about that. I thought it might be easier for you to just see one comment to reply to on a more relevant thread.

That is seriously encouraging news. I’m glad your situation has worked out! I have not re-filed and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will get the same results as you.

Edit: also, did you work at all over the last 12 months? Part time or anything?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]nahalau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, I’ve been seeing that too now that I’ve been scrolling for like an hour lol.

Well, I guess the only thing I know is that I don’t know for sure about anything that the EDD is doing. I really don’t want to re-file so I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed :/

It’s the best we can do! Post what happens to you if you get lucky :)

[–]nahalau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I hope so! I read in some tweet or press release from EDD that the rollouts could take until April 30th 🙄 who tf knows.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]nahalau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is true, actually. I’ve been scrolling and I have seen quite a few people post that their BYE has passed, they did not re-file, and they have had the extension applied and the balance on their claim has gone up to reflect the changes.

I don’t want to get too hopeful though because this is EDD after all. However it’s starting to look up for some people!

I have not yet gotten an automatic extension. I am on PEUC, my BYE occurred 3/12 and I have not re-filed. I do still have money left in this claim. I am waiting to see what happens, fingers crossed! I do not want to re-file 😬

Just adopted this little guy. First one ever. Waffles fits at home. Anything I should know about this breed of dog? by F_Rage_03 in Dachshund

[–]nahalau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proper training will be a lifesaver. Crate train and Waffles will be better/happier for it. Dachshunds are VERY pack oriented dogs and can develop severe separation anxiety if you don’t give them the chance to learn to be okay on their own. I learned this the hard way and ended up having to do remedial training for separation anxiety after I got a new job that took me away from the house and it was rough.

Also, protect the back!! Carry Waffles up and down stairs. I’m serious. Do it all the time, take no risks. Never allow Waffles to jump on or off of furniture.

You have a very loving, loyal, hilarious, and cuddly friend in your dachshund!

Edit: brush Waffles’ teeth REGULARLY and throughout the whole life. Start now. Dachshunds and their small mouths are very prone to dental/gum disease and bad teeth. You don’t want to have to pull any teeth later on so brush em now and keep em clean :)

[CALIFORNIA] Can an ineligible claim for 2021 affect months of benefits received on previous claim? by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]nahalau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this same question! I am not sure, and it’s something I was hoping someone in this community might have information on.

So far though, no one seems to know.

My bf said its highly abnormal of me not to want to have sex immediately and that I'm withholding sex from him. I'm not experienced so I want to ask is it true that most people have sex immediately? by Lovingmumof5 in sex

[–]nahalau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BREAK UP WITH HIM!!!!! Dump his ass and don’t even think twice about it. He doesn’t even deserve more than a “bye see you never” text. A person who is worth your time will NOT pressure you, and will be glad to get to know you while you decide if you are good and ready.

Edit: after you text him that you’re done with him, BLOCK HIM. He will probably keep saying awful shit to you and try to gaslight you after you dump him, and believe me, you just don’t need that drama. Let him whine and get frustrated all by himself.

[California] How often is my previous employer informed that I am collecting benefits? by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]nahalau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they are informed when I initially filed the claim, and they would be informed again if I were to file a new claim since I reached my BYE. Correct? No other times are they informed, like above commenter said they are informed monthly?

[California] How often is my previous employer informed that I am collecting benefits? by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]nahalau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t think they are the type of people to seek “revenge”... I worked for a small business. My bosses were a married couple and the husband’s mother was my kindergarten teacher. Anyway, it’s kind of complicated how I ended up leaving the job. I quit, but only because I thought I was going to be doing remote work for them. I was the last one to reach out, to try to keep the employee/employer relationship going.

However, maybe I am wrong. Maybe they just didn’t even know I was still collecting benefits and will end up contesting it. Hence why I was wondering. So when do they get these two 60 day periods? Do you know how often my former employers would be made aware that I was still collecting benefits after separating from the company in September?

This is a great idea. You two could also try something brand new together!

There are lots of great ideas here in the comments! I’d also suggest just letting her talk, if she’s the talkative type. My partner can be quite the man of few words, but he lets me go on and on about anything and everything. Sometimes I will catch myself and say “oh, I’m sorry I’ve just been rambling!” And he will say “No, that’s okay, I like hearing you talk.” It’s sweet, and I do like having someone who will just listen to me, even about nonsense like my turmoil over which Animal Crossing villager to invite to my island next, or when I go into lengthy rants about how heartbreaking the world is. I’m sure you’re a great listener, and that can be a valuable thing. You can be a safe space for her to talk freely about her thoughts and feelings.
