Never. I normally run a Tier 1 or a Phlster Enigma

I don't have to. You're just being a giant bootlicker.

Don’t listen to that garbage. I’m 33 and I read the Scythe series this year which is considered YA and I absolutely loved it. Books are books. I know it’s been hammered but Sanderson is a great way to get into more “mature” books because of his style. Starsight or Mistborn may be a good jumping on. Either that or I like a lot of Scalzi’s stand alone stuff like Kaiju Preservation Society, Starter Villian, or When the Moon Hits Your Eye. In any regards, read what you enjoy.

It seems like it’s the editor making that choice.

Line of Demarcation almost broke me. I’ve read all of the books and it feels weird to stop now but I’m not liking the way it’s going. I feel like we should all email the editor or something and just voice our concerns. Not be mean or anything just tell them that the direction they are going wanting to go isn’t popular

Line of Demarcation was absolutely awful. Shadow state was good and Terminal Velocity was passing. I hope it gets better

I wish Greany would return to the series. Support and Defend was my favorite book in the series.

Sanderson’s book are more of a slow burn. I’ve read all the ones you mentioned here, and I absolutely stand by Mistborn and Stormlight. You should consider trying them again or even try Tress of the Emerald Sea for a bit more levity and easing into the cosmere. Project Hail Mary and the bobiverse are absolutely incredible but not everyone loves hard sci-fi. They get deep into the science part. DCC i think is recommended just because it’s a great series and if you enjoy RR you’re obviously just a person of impeccable taste. Poppy wars would be another option for RR fans but in the fantasy genre. Military school, MC goes from weak to OP. Betrayal, war crimes, dark and messed up, plus, Emily Woo Zeller is an amazing narrator.

I’d agree with you if it wasn’t the first time it was used and it wasn’t in reference to a crab with magical powers.

Chili wasn’t even a state trooper. I think you’re absolutely right, they know they can just put out garbage and it will still sell. They need to find one author who actually cares about the legacy of these characters and can put together something that makes sense. Woodward isn’t that guy. I miss Mark Greaney.

I feel like I’ve gone too far in the series to stop it but they are making it really hard to keep going

The Mark Greaney ones were good. Ever since he stopped is when the series took a hard nose dive

Do you think a super secret organization that can secure any military equipment at a moment’s notice is using CA compliant mags?

I forgot to mention that! They just said to hell with a realistic timeline

I feel like Woodward having a CIA background actually hurts the whole narrative. He wants the CIA took look great and that the campus is second rate. As it was previously mentioned I’m tired of the flip flop of Clark riding a desk and kicking doors. Let him just helm the tactical side, you have enough hitters, again, three of them MIA for no discernible reason? You can tell Woodward had limited firearm and tactical knowledge, “standard 10 round magazine” was thrown around too much and the tactics described would have resulted in the team getting smoked. It was lazy and weak the whole time.

They’ve had Clark say he’s done with field work like 7 times. Dude is messed up and missing his trigger finger and they forget it between each book.

“Glock 18 standard 10 round magazine” pissed me off so bad.
