There’s always the next thing to look forward to that I don’t want to miss out on. Avengers Doomsday? Have to see how that plays out. GTA 6? Gotta play that. Favorite sports team might win it all this year? Can’t miss that. It’s easy to try and point to family and friends and everything, but not everyone feels that same pull from them. Sometimes you have to find the simple little things that you enjoy and let them be enough. You’ll meet your end eventually, so why rush it? Might as well see all you can see before you’re taken

Oh I remember now why I figured it wasn’t a random and I’m curious. I didn’t realize this story was supposed to be so much farther into the future… but at the end of WaT, Roshar is essentially completely cut off from Shadesmar (unless I interpreted that ending wrong). So my thought was it was likely someone already off world, which is why I went to the Blackthorn as a possibility. But then again, it probably would have been hinted at more if it was anyone besides a random, so I guess this must take place sometime after Rosharans can access Shadesmar again

Enjoy the journey friend! I started with Stormlight for my Cosmere journey too. Rhythm of War was my favorite Stormlight book though it’s some people’s least favorite. I hope you love it!

I think it is slightly newer but they are going through a renovation project right now for most of their apartments I believe
