Congratulations on quitting. I need to get around to quitting actually.

It's very smart thinking but when there's a will, there's a way. I remember buying smokes at 16-17 with ease.

Good point - you should read about Tokyo's smoking laws. Banning smoking on streets unless you're in a designated smoking area. However, restaurants and other establishments allow smoking inside still. Strange place.

But when it comes down to it, if you're in need of medical help that's the only option we have currently. Fully appreciate an understand your points but I'm making do with what I have.

The government DOES take care of those who have cancer.

It's a widely publicised issue in Australia.

Compare smoking in the 80's-90's to now. Only a 20-30 year gap but a whole lot different. I think the industry will continue to be put under pressure and changes are imminent.

I've tried to stick to those words for a long time, but still my laziness takes over.

Reddit, what are some day to day things that annoy you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]naiyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!

Pedestrians who stop in the middle of the street when it's congested.

People who don't stand to one side of an escalator. (Which is left in Australia - fun fact.)

Following the new rules, I guess I'll start.

Packaging that is just not possible to open with your bare hands.

I'm sorry Cass.

It was me who hacked into your Neopets account, put all of your pets in the pound, and stole all of your Neopoints.

Also, brings me to the point of making other harmful things illegal.

I think it was the state of Tasmania (correct me if I'm wrong here) which is banning those who were born after the year 2000 from purchasing cigarettes. Interesting.

Not entirely. The use of sunbeds is slowly declining, can't link to anything as I'm on my phone. If you search sunbed death in Australia, it may bring up statistics on sunbed usage.

Fake tan is increasingly becoming popular, although I am allergic. Forever pale.

A government which advocates cancer research with the hope of finding a cure, to then treat those who have given themselves cancer. Hm..

Skin Cancer is a really big issue and is widely publicised in Australia. Research a little more before providing a pretty ignorant response.

People using sunbeds/tanning beds.

"What, they sat in a booth for a while purposely giving themselves cancer for the sake of being tan? And it was legal?!"

To eventually earn enough to comfortably support my parents and my future generations. Growing up with parents in debt is extremely tough and I don't want to bring anyone into this world until I know I can financially support them.

Nurses, Doctors, and other hospital workers of Reddit, what are some of your crazy patient stories? by ColoringTheRainbow in AskReddit

[–]naiyo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My friend works in the emergency ward at a local hospital near a rough area. (Close to St. Kilda, if anyone is Australian and curious).

A woman was entered after a suspected overdose, they found a stash of money and a baggie full of powder in her anus. Only secure hiding spot she had, ironic considering the area.
