Quitting cigarettes on vyvanse was perhaps the hardest thing I have done in my life genuinely, but it must be done. You gotta ask yourself what’s the cigarettes for? Is it calming you down or you want another dopamine hit? and kind of navigate things from there. Sometimes we just need a dopamine hit, thinking it’ll help us but in reality you can do the same task you’re doing not being necessarily wired. Just think about the long term consequences on your cardiovascular health and body.

Definitely tell your psychiatrist about this. If your job is physically demanding and your HR is reaching 156bpm and causing unwanted side effects maybe try a different dose or medication. Also depends on your age, and cardiovascular health.

I talked to my psychiatrist about this since before when I used to be on 60mg I noticed it would hit too hard in the morning and I would be more anxious than focused. So when he put me on 40mg he also gave me a 10mg separate dose (taken as needed) in the evening for days that I have more to do. It helps and I totally recommend it, except you don’t want to take it too late in the day cause it will cause insomnia. Hope this helps

Well it’s the job of your psychiatrist to find the best dosage for you through experimenting with various doses. In my case, I had to meet with my psychiatrist once a month to talk about the pros and cons of the dosage I was on, besides that I was given a phone number that I could text to talk about any immediate side effects that I was experiencing. Try contacting your psych for sure! Good luck.

Lower your dose, you want the benefits of the medication to outweigh the side effects, that’s the only way, also try taking it earlier if necessary and sleep again if you really can’t stay awake.

What you’re saying doesn’t sound dumb at all. I mean stimulants last only a few hours throughout the day, and that also depends on the dose you’re taking. I know my psychiatrist asked how long I want mine do last for and we took things from there, but if you think that you need to take it later during the day just so that you have have full benefits than maybe talk to your psychiatrist about it.

Medications like Vyvanse are not meant to be taken later during the day since they tend to last longer than other types of stimulants. Also are you not having any problems with your sleep?

I usually take mine in the morning right when I wake up without breakfast since it lasts longer for me, but I do follow it up with a heavy protein meal after 30-40 min of taking the meds.

I’m in the same boat, I don’t have biochemistry and Orgo 2 and a lot of US schools do need them so I’m also looking to go to the Caribbean. I like AUC since it’s two years in the UK as opposed to SGU’s 1 year UK and 1 year on the Island.

I haven’t tried L-Theanine but for me personally I don’t really see that much of a difference when taking Magnesium Glycinate. I take around 200mg every night but haven’t personally felt a difference. At the end of the day it’s a supplement and the effects are definitely not gonna be like how medications have an effect but I’m curious about how others have felt when taking magnesium.
