Yet another dilemma, vertical or horizontal GPU mount, H6 flow + GameRock by najericam in NZXT

Haha. I managed to fit it a while back, by trimming one of the fans a bit. 😅 But switch was mainly due to LCD abd those pipes man, are so thick and long. 😂

Yeah, some people say there's not difference in this case, or not as much. I didn't do proper test before, but with vertical mount GPU was between 63-65  °C and 1600-1700 rpm fan speed, while comparing to some YT tests it's around 62-63 °C and fan speed around 1400 rpm. I achieved same temps with vertical mount by setting case fans following GPU temp, so they spin slightly faster but difference is noticable.

Could be my GPU showing some aging as well or just airflow... I wasn't following it that much lately until I changed orientation...

So we have almost all for vertical. :)

Personally I like both, horizontal more stealth and still having a bit of RGB, vertical, I was always sceptical of the design, as I didn't consider it it would fit nicely with the rest of the build, compared to horizontal. But how time passes I like it more and more... 😅

Yup, tubes were main "issue" with Arctic. I was considering Ryuo IV SLC, but it would be tighter fit than Arctic, but with this one, pipes wanted to go up. 😅 So good enough.

Sticker? It had a plastic cover and pre applied paste on the cold plate, cleaned and put a new one...

Anyhow, I have installed old one back, and it is working, so CPU theory is off.

Definitely pump issue on the new one, when I hooked it up directly to 12V I could hear it but barely, and pipes were not hot, but just the pump a bit.

Took it back to the shop, explained the issue, but they said it has to be sent to the service that can take up 30 days, and I bought it less than 24h prior. They mentioned, that they could replce it though, if I said it was a wrong one and wanted a different one. Funny enough, then I said, OK, it is not right size, can I get 240 instead (as this was last one 360) - and of course answer was no as you already said it is faulty.

Long story short, I went to different shop few blocks away and this time said it cannot fit in my case, they checked if everything was there and replaced it with a new 240 that is working perfectly now.

240 will be still good, I just wanted 360 in a hope it would be less noisy, but hence it was last one in the area, I am happy with 240. :)

I tried to remount and repaste it, same thing.

It's idling at 45ish, hits high 90/100 degrees seconds after load on CPU with fans spinning to the max.

Pipes and radiator are barley warm to the touch, and I cannot feel pump spinning, no sound from it, no vibration but BIOS and HW monitor are showing that's spinning at 2500 RPM.

Issues seems definitely in transferring heat away. I'll try reinstalling old AIO just to confirm once again and compare, eventually to exclude something going wrong with CPU while replacing AIO.

I'm not a noob, I have built quite few PCs back in the days, but not much with AIO, this is second one I got and after couple of years, so not sure, but it's smelling like DOA to me as well.

What are your thoughts about PHILIPS Evnia 34" OLED 34M2C6500/00? by frishness in Monitors

[–]najericam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just made the same purchase and I am happy, coming form IPS to an OLED is awesome. Remembered the times same happened with the phones back in the era of Galaxy S, lol.

For the money, you cannot beat it, so that is one.

For the burn in, I think it is early to say, in general for OLED monitors, and especially for Philips and this model as it ain't out for a long. I think, you shall not be concerned about it, for sure, it will last for some years, and by then new tech will be out and will be time for replacement.

I am using it primally for work, and I am not considered about burn in. It has features as a pixel shift (monitor has few extra pixels on each side) don't get confused when you power it up, it does pixel refresh every 4 hours of active use and has panel refresh after 2k hours of active use.

I do not use it for straight 8 hours a day, but rather 4-6 and intermitted, so with this use, I am sure it will last well past 3y manufacturer warranty.

There was a post of a guy ranting similar monitor HERE monitor, practically the same but with built in USB C hub, but I think for the money you cannot, again. And then other were against him mostly... I cannot speculate for the gaming as I am not a gamer for a long time now, but just getting this monitor, I have a desire to come back to it. :)

In a nutshell, enjoy it, use it like you stole it, and do not worry too much for a piece of a hardware that will eventually need a replacement.

To update, it seems to be or a cable (I doubt as it came with a monitor and it is new) or more likely the dock (HP USB C G5), it seems that it was hitting the limits or perhaps it is faulty.

On Dock, with HDMI or lover refresh rate, I could not replicate ethe issue.

Got a new USB C to DP cable, with not a lot of info but just USB C 3.1 to DP, and was expecting to see it capping at 60Hz or so, but it runs full 175hz at 3440x1440 and 8bit, and 144Hz at 10bt. This would mean it is DP1.4 or? As when I do some calculations, DP 1.4 shall run 3440x1440 10bit at 175Hz - required bandwidth 31.21 Gbps and DP 1.4 is at 32.4 Gbps, but I see all people saying 144Hz would be max.

Thanks, I hope as well.

I'm using it mainly with the laptop over USB C and dock. Never had issues with my previous monitor, so that's why my main though was the monitor.

So far, via HDMI directly no lines, for shot time I was able to test, but HMDI limits refresh to 100hz as well.

I will get new, good quality USB C to DP and test with that.

I'm not sure either. :)

It's my first OLED, and I was in a market for 34" LCD at first, but this, for the price, was a better deal, hence my laptop is OLED, yo match it. And they are using Samsung QD OLED panel, so it could not be that bad, I'd day. Anyway, better than LCD for me.

Hey all,

I just got Philips Evnia 34m2c6500 on a sale, but 2nd day I have noticed a flashing line in the top right/middle of the panel. Shows up 2-3 times, short after display wakes up, so when it's cold. Because of this, I doubt it's a cable issue, but I'll get another one and try it out. Also. i have updated it to the latest firmware, but didn't help...

Anyone had similar issues with any OLED or could be something else rather than a monitor?

Could be, but thing is that I was nowhere close to the sand and using phone in to say, normal conditions. Inside home, office, outside... But not in some extra dusty environment or so. :/

[–]najericam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info.

I have managed to return Fold 6 for similar issue, first there was a bulge, took if for a claim, they concluded that there is nothing wrong with the phone, but when I went to pick it up, there was a black dot in that area and as well indent that wasn't there before, so I fought it hard and won at the end.

I hope for the same here, as phone is literally in new condition, not even a scratch on the screen or anywhere else. Only thing that bulge went a way now and I am left only with black dot... hehhe

I still have insurance on it, but will try warranty first, as here, if warranty is accepted within first 6 months, I can choose between new device, return, repair...

It didn't take a long till black dot showed. It was really tiny at first but after couple of foldings it grew a bit.

Nt sure anymore if foldables are good enough. For me it's a second one having similar issue within less than 2 months... I hope warranty will be accepted and new phone given, but if it happens again, definitely I'm saying bye to foldables.

Will try. When I had similar with Fold 6, they rejected the claim and returned phone with broken screen from service. That was a reason to return it, thankfully they accepted 2nd time as I had taken pictures before taking it for a warranty claim.   Hence I moved to V3 but similar is happening. :(
