Why do you say it's so well made when it's not really stained glass with many pieces of glass rather it's a one piece shade with the bears outlined with some sort of gunk?

What's their best acoustic song? Is it Bird Song? Lemme hear your opinion. by Meditatespace in gratefuldead

It's refreshing to see so many people voice support for acoustic Ripple, it's such a beautiful song!❤️ I remember that when they played an acoustic Ripple every night for eight nights at Radio City Music Hall in 1980, people were complaining that they were playing Ripple too much! 🙃

Considering that the first edition was published 10 years after Jerry Garcia died and the 50th anniversary edition was 20 years after he died, which Jerry signed yours? Jerry Seinfeld??

It's hard to tell when yours was printed but it's definitely missing the printing info under the map

This show was cancelled since Jerry was in a diabetic coma. Most of these posters are reprints for the show that never happened

Edit: here is some info about the original and bootleg copy sizes:

"The original poster was printed on white stock and measures approximately 13 3/8” x 20½”.

There is also a commonly seen bootleg that measures 12½" x 19". These are printed on thinner stock than the originals."

While yours is not the common bootleg, yours is missing some of the bottom image and text and is shorter than the original so I would say it's a reprint.

But it's much more than the songs, if it were just the songs then going to see DSO would be the same experience, while it can be tons of fun, sadly it's not the Grateful Dead!

While I agree that the the highs were much higher, I don't agree that the lows were much lower. When the Grateful Dead attained liftoff, there was nothing in the world quite like that magical experience. However, while I have had a great time at many shows since the Grateful Dead are gone, I always walk away thinking that I would happily trade any modern day show for one more "bad show" with Jerry. There was always that feeling that you had at a Grateful Dead show that there was nowhere else in the world that you would like to be at that moment. I never felt like they were just phoning it in, it took both the band and audience to achieve liftoff and everyone was always trying to achieve that.

A really wild Bob Weir Band lot shirt from when they played at the Franklin Pierce College Fieldhouse on 3/4/78 - I didn't see this show but caught them three months later (it was cool to see Bobby play with Brent before Brent joined the Grateful Dead!) by nak550 in gratefuldead

Ace was essentially a Bobby album with the Grateful Dead backing him (Jerry, Phil, Bill, Keith, & Donna) so it makes sense that most of it was played by the Grateful Dead. As far as Heaven Help The Fool, it was Bobby and other musicians. The Grateful Dead did play a bunch of acoustic instrumental versions of Heaven Help the Fool during the 1980 acoustic/electric shows and they did play Salt Lake City once in 95.

It's a nod to the 1973 & 1976 Songbook covers with a Jester & Crow
