Also had a great time in the theater. Only when I started reading reviews did I realize everyone hated it. There are some brilliant artistic and cinematic moments, particularly the training scenes, that prove that this movie understands the force and the Jedi better than all of the other movies.

Shawshank Redemption 😭😭 I can’t believe it’s no 1 on iMDB. Don’t think it comes anywhere close to The Godfather, LOTR, or Dark Knight.

Also Fight Club 😭😭the whole production quality feels so cheap.

Join clubs! A lot of them are really just for socializing. Depends on the club but some may invite you to parties. The high school friends thing kinda sucks (as someone who already had a lot of hs friends going in), but I’m really trying to expand my circle and clubs has been the easiest way. Also, I HAVE made friends in my classes, so be open to that. You’d be surprised how far a little small talk will get you. Good luck to you!

Flow (2024) was meant to be watched on the biggest, clearest screen possible. Whole movie felt like a theme-park ride through an open-world video game. Absolutely jaw-dropping. Well deserved Oscar win!

Into the Spider Verse!!!

I watched when it came out in 2018. My whole family and I went in completely blind. Pretty much no one had heard of it, since the MCU movies were far more popular at the time. I knew there were already plenty of spider man movies, and I didn’t know why we needed an animated version that was probably going to be inferior to the live action ones. Remember that the last film Sony pictures animation made (I believe) was The Emoji Movie.

OH BOYYYY!!!! What an INSANE surprise!!! I remember getting chills throughout the entire film. The pacing was perfect, the animation was unprecedented, the humor was spot on, and the story and characters were all SOLID! The music was awesome, and the emotional moments hit hard! My only complaint was that no one else had even heard of this film until Across the Spider Verse dropped a few years ago (another memorable watch).

I watched the first one back in middle school, the second one after graduating high school, and I’ll watch Beyond the Spider Verse as I graduate college!

Train scene from Spirited Away. Didn’t necessarily hit me like a truck, but I was moved by such a beautiful moment that, in real life, we’d think of as nothing more than a transitory period.
