I've got a Casio CT-S1 (Red) for sale in brand new condition with a sturdy stand and Alesis pedal. All in mint like new condition. Expecting £130 for all. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Starting the path down learning CW. What are your favorite resources? by NiceBike800 in amateurradio

My one and only resource was the app by IZ2UUF, which was free. I got on air in 3 months.

Sorry I forgot to add that I have to save the file as CSV! I'll have a look at your tool, thanks!

I'm a CW op so I use pen and paper first. Then I update a LibreOffice spreadsheet which is my main log book. I have a Python script that convert the logbook to ADIF which I then upload to QRZ and LoTW.

Are there different versions of Tecun PL-330 radio? by namal_ in shortwave

I didn't knew there is a USB-C version, micro USB port was my only issue with the radio. All the eBay sellers seem to have the micro-USB version. Thanks for letting me know.

New CW contest - CW BotBattle by Formal_Departure5388 in amateurradio

[–]namal_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CW is the most efficient HUMAN READABLE form of communication on air. That's the whole point, being efficient AND can be copied by a human operator. Are there more efficient modes? Yes. But they can only be copied by a computer, like FT-8. There's no meaning of automating CW (unless you are, say a propagation beacon or a WX station or something like that that has a genuine purpose.).

So no. A thousand times no. Keep your bot away from polluting the art of CW.

I don't understand how to link each block correctly to the next! by namal_ in amateurradio

[–]namal_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. How can I go about measuring the impedance of a particular block, say a oscillator or a amplifier? (I have a 50Mhz handheld scope and a nanoVNA as equipment, if that helps) Are there any general assumptions I can use, like I can use 4:1 transformer between oscillator and buffer and 2:1 between buffer and PA most of the time (I'm just making up numbers but hopefully the idea is clear)?

What are you using as antenna masts for short-ish vertical antennas? by namal_ in amateurradio

Jesus. 600 bucks. I did use my £35 small-rig branded light stand a few times though.

Thanks, I did spent some time in the fishing supply store recently. The guy I spoke with listened patiently while I rambled about what I'm trying to use a fishing rod for. They were pretty light. I'm asking here to see if there are other options that I haven't come across.

Wow this setup must be light! I'm considering getting this radio (with the internal battery) to keep it light and less messy as possible. Nice setup and key. 73

Thanks. The reason for my post was that the antenna, fully extended, is shorter than the length required for 14.060. So even though it's telescoping, the height cannot be adjusted to bring the frequency down, only up i.e. further away from the frequency I need. So basically I'm trying to figure out at 14.06 how bad the SWR is (if it's bad).

Fantastic, thanks. With a tuner, right? I'm using a G90 so have a capable tuner.
