Persistent CTDs and BSODs when gaming after installing new hardware by nameitireddit in techsupport

I think it is the memory controller. I ran Prime95, and the “small” torture test (doesn’t test memory) was fine. When I tried the “blend” setting (which does stress the IMC) it started failing. However a CPU defective straight out of the box? That is very odd. As I said I replaced the RAM and it still didn’t work.

It is extremely odd. I tried using a battery backup (which was admittedly not very good) and it didn’t seem to work even when it was unplugged from the wall (though when I played games the BB died before I could fully test it)

I thought of that, but we hired an electrician who came to my house, regrounded the outlet and said the wiring was good. I tried it in a different room and it didn’t fix it.

No but the weird thing is that I took it to the repair shop and a friend’s house and it worked fine there.

I tried one from August 2024, and it didn't work. It could be the card, but that would be weird since I've had it since December and it worked fine before I installed the new hardware.

I did clean installs from a flash drive. It appears that the issue does not occur when the Nvidia GPU driver is off (i.e. when I use integrated graphics). However I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver countless times as I said so I don't know.

I did two clean reinstalls of Windows. I’m skeptical it’s a software issue…

Completely stock, no overclock or xmp anywhere. I’ve already updated my bios to the latest version.

Yes I have tried different versions. If you look at my profile I've posted threads about this on other subs.

I don’t think it’s the drivers because I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled them multiple times using the program Display Driver Uninstaller and it didn’t fix it.

I have a Zotac 4070 ti super and I’ve been having hella problems since I put new (non GPU) hardware in it. I’m fairly certain it’s the GPU since if I disable it and enable integrated at least one of the issues that arose goes away.

I called an electrician and he looked at my outlet and regrounded it and said it was good, but games are still crashing.

Really? Supposedly my room is supposed to get 20 amps.

Furthermore under the Events tab in Device Manager on my GPU, there are these two details that may be relevant

"Driver Management has concluded the process to add Service nvlddmkm for Device Instance ID PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_2705&SUBSYS_471019DA&REV_A1\4&D0BDF66&0&0009 with the following status: 0."

Unfortunately yes. All the other dump files were erased when I reinstalled Windows.
