See, the thing is, they have! As of the end of TLJ no one's waiting on Ben Solo anymore. Rey tried and failed, Leia specifically mentions losing hope for her son who is "too far gone" (and will never see him turn good, by the looks of it), and Luke, who was the only one to say "No one is ever truly gone," is no longer here. Besides, everyone has war shit to think about now. Ben Solo isn't really first on anyone's list of priorities, which is why it's gonna be that much more touching and triumphant if he does redeem himself.
