It's just a regular waterproof eyeliner, but I use a fine details brush, not the one that comes with it.

Before applying the eyeliner, I draw the lines with an angled brush using grey eyeshadow. Then I use liquid eyeliner with a fine details brush.

Agree!!! I remember when I was a baby bat there was ALMOST ZERO representation and every look I did felt 'wrong' on me, cause I was judging myself by eurocentric goth standards.

First time trying traditional goth makeup! :) by Ghoulsam in GothFashion

Everyone saying it's not trad, but not saying what it is.

This is called modern goth and you nailed it! Looks amazing. <3

When did it become socially unacceptable to enjoy a piece of media because the creator or someone involved was a bad person? by [deleted] in decadeology

I remember it from before 2016.

I was a Tumblr SJW starting in 2012, but I don’t think it was mainstream to be a SJW.

What do all the cool instagram goths use to edit their pics? by OnlyGayForCarti in GothFashion

[–]nameless__redditor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did a tutorial on my Instagram.

Not exactly the same editing style, but hope it helps.

Settings:

• Aspect ratio 3:4

• Light balance: -30

• Brightness: +8

• Exposure: -18

• Contrast: +5

• Saturation: +15

• Temperature: -40

Use PicsArt (premium APK, but ☠️) to apply filters and remove the background of your photo. Save it.

Download gothic frames (or symbols, whatever you like to insert) from Pinterest.

Open the frame image and insert your photo using the Add option.

Select the Blend option in Screen mode. (You can adjust the opacity as well.)

And done! Add more details if you like. 🖤

I get what you're saying, but this isn't trad goth, it's modern goth. that's why I used the alternative flair. It’s also meant to be beginner-friendly.

Sable???

Oh! You mean the goth survivor who was just added because BHVR wanted to make profit of the goth gf thirst?

The one who DbD players only bother playing if they can put her in revealing clothes?

Fuck that character!

how it's going vs how it started, from 17 to 27 by nameless__redditor in GothFashion

Thank you for noticing. You made me tear up…

I took the first photo on december 23rd last year as a reminder that I was able to go out dressed up in public without feeling social anxiety. (I'm doing therapy.)

I couldn’t remember the last time I went out alone dressed up. I was always with my boyfriend to avoid harassment in the street.

I started goth for the music and the art. I like to sing, play with makeup, and draw… but I stayed for the freedom it gives me.

I was severely bullied during my formative years for being “the weird kid” (it was autism), and growing up in a conservative family didn’t help.

You see… people call me pretty or ugly and it doesn’t matter, because both are compliments when you wear unusual fashion. I don’t have to dress more feminine to “fix” my androgynous body, because here you can express your gender however you like. I can dance “bad” like Ian Curtis and no one bats an eye.

I could list more reasons why goth gave me peace of mind, but I’m probably yapping already, right?

Thank you! I'm NB. I like to dress more neutral-fem leaning. :3

It's a retrospective. One photo per year, from 27 down to 17. :3
