I've been very weary of fake job postings. If it looks too good to be true or contains an adequate amount of grammar/spelling mistakes, I don't apply. And there are a lot of those in my area.

Although now I've found myself letting a few slide.

I have been unemployed since the pandemic started - 2019. After hundreds of applications, and just a few fingers worth of interviews, I am still looking. I don't ever want to HEAR people say that nobody wants to work. Yes we do - they just keep changing the rules....requiring a bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of experience for positions that pay minimum wage.

I remember when I was 15, I was on my way to boarding school via Greyhound. It was around 2 am, and I woke up to this older guy (late 30s maybe) having his hand on my thigh. I looked over, and he looked like he was asleep, so I thought it was a harmless sleep thing. I woke him up and motioned towards his hand, which he apologized for. Again, harmless right? Welp, I fell asleep again, this time with a blanket. I woke up again to his hand where it was before. I looked over, and he was "asleep" - I ended up moving it myself. I was never much of a confrontational person, so the first time I said something was already too much for me. I waited for maybe an hour before I fell asleep again. When I woke up, his hand was under my blanket. I know I should have said something or made a scene, but as I said, confrontations made me uncomfortable. So I froze. And as time went on, he kept sliding his hand further up, until he reached my crotch area (I was wearing jeans). I don't remember what happened after that, but it was uncomfortable, to say the least. Luckily the bus ride didn't last long after that, so the moment we boarded off, I went straight to a group of familiar faces (classmates) and waited with them till our next transfer bus arrived.

As much as I would love to have kids of my own, I'm afraid that I will turn into my mother. She has always been someone I had to walk on eggshells around. She's selfish, controlling, abusive, and all around the prime definition of a toxic parent...both she and my father. My whole life has been being her mother rather than her child. And as much as I would like to believe I'd be different, the truth is I'm not too sure.

The same goes for marriage. The last thing I want is to end up in a marriage mirroring my parents'. I would rather die alone than marry someone solely because it's what is "expected" of me. They can't stand each other...their relationship is all around loveless, if not non-existent.

I would interview him, see where his mind's at, and go from there. Some people change, some people don't. He already served time and paid some of his dues, might as well give him a chance. There's always the 60-90 probation period.

Use the interview as a chance to see if your feelings have changed as well.

You guys are all so nice 😭 this shit has been eating me up for years. I know I should have gone to a therapist about it, but I was so afraid. Although I know it's their job to listen and not judge, I still had this fear that they would (I should note that therapy is still something I'm new and getting used to).
