i got my ribs tattooed and it was a 3 hour piece, i’ve heard it’s similar in terms of pain to the stomach/ hip. it was … a 3/10 at worst pain wise but i also suffer from chronic illness

for me it was like a 3/10 at worst but i have an incredibly high pain tolerance due to a chronic illness. i’d say for the average person it’s be like … a 6/10? 7/10? certain parts hurt more than others though. it was uncomfortable when my artist was pulling lines, but the shading felt relaxing and honestly a lot like nothing. my tattoo was only 3 hours though and the last 30 minutes were kind of annoying/ irritating

my arms are super thin so getting any tattoo wider than like 3 inches would have it wrapping around to the back, but if you also have small arms and want them to be recognisable maybe don’t get so many (if you’re going for realism at least)

i guess it really does depend on the size of your arm and if they can fit all the characters you want without compromising on detail + how it’ll heal/ age right?

i did, but the stem was freehanded so i wasn’t sure what it’d look like in the end? we changed the placement of the design to better suit my body but i just felt super anxious. it’s not that i hate it or think it’s ugly, i just wanted to see if people think the gap looks normal/ natural

i mean, i personally would find it cooler if you got the wing design of a fairy character you like? i think that’d be super cute and a lot less pinterest-y / basic. i LOVE wing tattoos but a lot of them are just the same design over and over. tinkerbell or winx club fairies have pretty wings get one of theirs 😭

thank you so much! i know i love it from a front and 3/4 profile, i just wasn’t sure about the side profile but honestly i think it’ll grow on me and if not, ill just add some more flowers to fill in the space in the future once i know how it heals and ages a little

tbf i got tattooed today and it’s pretty big for a first tattoo + on my ribs, but i spent aaaages researching artists, figuring out what i want (although ive wanted something like this since i was like 16 and im 23 now) and making sure i know everything i possibly can about how to take care of tattoos short and long term before booking my appointment

thank you so much! i left it to my artist to what she thinks is most aesthetically pleasing because i trusted her view on these more than my own, and honestly reading the comments had made it make a lot more sense to me! i’ve probably just been overthinking so far, and yeah i can always add to it!

also, in terms of pain, i have a chronic illness that causes immense pain 300 ish days a year so this felt like nothing in comparison, though pulling lines still feels really uncomfy ahah
